ECblend, it was cheap and still not 100% on diy yet as i am still trying to work out recipes, and am lazy.

Never had that problem from anything we have tried from there.. I wonder if they switched up the nic source

So I was reading a little but of the wire rope wick thread. Now they are talking about screws.....say it works great as long as it's wet, not immersed but wet....how would you keep it wet in the aga without immersing it? Maybe I'm just dumb...

From the looks of it, it (the screw) is submerged into the tank just like a rolled mesh wick.. Just glancing at it, that's all I make of it. When I have a few more minutes I will examine closer. Where did you read that it shouldn't be submerged, so I can see it in context

More wire equals higher resistance

... are you sure cause i just did like a 6 wrap wick and got .3 ohms... now i have a 3 wrap wick and its 1.3 GRRRR why is this not working!

You have a short.. what gauge is your wire? 6-7 wraps of 28 gets me about 1-1.2 ohms. Of course, that's on a rolled 3" wick..so about 2.7 mm diameter

sigh i need better wick and wire i cant double my wick as the pheonix is to small to work in, and the wire is nichrome i dunno the gauge but apparently its to thin. With 6 wraps i was getting about 1.3 according to my ohm meter, i am not sure maybe i am putting it on the pheonixx wrong
