I usually start it at 3 volts then slowly work my way up. I've got 5 wraps of 30ga kanthal on a wire rope wick with about 2 wraps of mesh on the very top. I was thinking of wrapping another coil....but I have a huge headache and don't feel like messing with it. I think my biggest problem is I'm having a hard time keeping the mesh wrapped tight around the wire rope on the top

I was looking at throwing that together yesterday, but I couldn't think how I would wrap the mesh and the coil. I will do one tomorrow and see where it leads, lol

I don't know what what happened. I just saw Jen had to go pick up bandages and skittles because you hurt your hand.

Lol.. yeah, while we were down in KS my index finger had a bit of a run in with the sharp side of a fillet knife.. I changed the bandage again, after my shower last night and it was still bleeding, with no pressure applied. Pretty sure it needs stitches, but I'm just going to control the bleeding and do super glue to keep it together

Hey....I have a super glue finger repair going on right now myself....
We should start a club and only let the cool kids in....

The first one I just kinda rolled the mesh like I was making a wick, then it kinda just wrapped itself around the wire.....then I wrapped the coil around it....Worked good, but it came out at around 2ohms.....so I redid it with 5 wraps instead of 6.....i tried wrapping directly on the wick out of the aga, directly on the wick while in the aga, and then did a peter k coil and slid it all in.......took forever but I finally got rid of hotspots....now they are back and I can't get more than the top 2 coils to glow!

It's probably not helping that the mesh is sliding around
