So I made another coil, Peter k style, rolled my mesh and stuck it into the coil. Dry burned it starting at 3.5 volts and worked up to 6 volts.....it was looking really good.....until I filled the tank.....now I can't get rid of the damn top hot spot! It's so frustrating!
Now my bottom 2 coils are glowing when they shouldn't be.....Think I might need a slightly smaller drill bit.....I'm thinking they are just a bit too loose and aren't getting enough liquid to keep them from glowing
Sounds about right.. The other day I noticed a few warmer hits (after taking care of the top hot spot on my re-wrap) and it was the bottom two as well. Must have loosened them up while fixing the top one. Bottom ones are a bit of a pita, but with a couple of techniques you should be golden!
Made another coil.......now I can only get the top 2 to glow.....

Work out your coils starting where the short is at.. Top to bottom, in this case
I think I've got it close enough......i hope.....we'll see.....
