Judging from the RM2 assembly guide there is only one way it fits together, so I believe once I have ruled out a cap switch (I do have 2 RM2's), I will tag the bottom of the cap with sand paper until I get her lined up. Only other thing I can think of is higher ohm's on the coil and hopefully that will get me set up again. It's been very frustrating, at first I thought I had a bad batch of juice or something, but I am just running too hot, and the cap not lining up is probably not helping at all.

Thanks
If you look, there is two holes in the base where the ceramic fits. You want the shortest post(neg) screwed into the right hole when looking down from the top. Trust me, their is a huge difference. Might want to look into this before taking sandpaper to the atty.

Looking at the pic below you will notice there are 2 threaded holes in the cup/base portion of the RM2. You need to put the ceramic piece into the cup and move it till the ceramic holes line up with the 2 holes in the cup. While doing this make sure your posts are at a proper position for the coil to end up at your caps air hole at final assembly.

after thoroughly cleaning it all out (make sure your drains are plugged up unless you like loosing stuff down it) you will need to ensure the posts/holes are lined up properly. Prior to disassembly w/ the cap on I took a cobalt bit and scratched a marker into the brass on the bass of the RM2 which is not visible when threaded on for a point of reference. This is my air hole mark. If you don't do this you could reassemble it and have your air hole on the opposite side of the coil.

I am sorry, but I believe the author of the rebuild guide has confused the issue. I don't need to read it, I can see from the pictures, there is ONLY ONE WAY it fits together. You cannot flip it or put it back together wrong. Many other genesis and stuff like that you can flip the decks around to get the air hole where you want them. If you study those pictures you don't need to know anything else. It's a one way road.

I got the wrong cap on there or I need to adjust the cap.

Thank you all for your help....

@ Russ, there is no hot legs, I just rewicked and dry burned twice in the course of a day. I admit it needs a new coil build. I think I must prefer a higher ohm build and need the airhole to align. I hope that takes care of it. I might wire up a 2 ohm jobby when I get home and see how it goes. I am not a cloud buster, just want a nice vape and my nic.

Thank you everyone

I'd also check for a hot leg mousie. They are an often overlooked cause for a hot / harsh vape. I have a VERY difficult time eliminating hot legs on coils with less than 8 wraps :)

That and fixing the coil / air relationship as others have mentioned and it should be game on :)

I think in one video/thread SuperX said that he was (used to) build to vape at ~2.3 Ohms? I know recently he seems to have slid down the curve a bit :)

I edited my post to not be a jerk to Mr. Coal Driller. I will honor the $100 gift card. Please show me how to do it and I want pics. I think you are mistaken. I would also like to up the ante, and Mr. Coal Driller should offer up a counter-bet in the likely event he can't put Humpty Dumpty back together 180 or 90 or any other degrees off engineered spec.
