Hi and welcome. I have a suggestion: a REO Mini. It's a bottom feeder mod that is made of airplane aluminum (strong, strong.) It has a 3ml bottle for juice, so there's no dripping, and there's no changing carts/cartos all day long. I own one and I love it...it's hassle free vaping at its best. It's small....fits well in my hand and/or pocket. They're a little pricey compared to say an eGo kit, but for your specific needs, I'd totally recommend one. They're hard to come by sometimes because they sell out fast, but I think there are still a few on the site. Here's the link: reosmods.com. Also, you should visit their forum and read up and talk to others who have them.

For the pocket I like clear dual coil carto because it will break before your PV if you forget to remove carto.
I also like CE2 but they still have a couple bugs.

I work construction also. I use a boxmod like the one sold by MadVapes.com. I use Boge 2ohm cartos with it.

I chose this mod for work because it has an ON/OFF switch to prevent pocket vaping when I'm bending over or crawling through tight spaces. It's also one of the cheapest mods out there ( $6 if you DIY or $18 if MadVapes makes it for you) so if it gets banged up, scratched, lost or whatever I'm not gonna lose any sleep over it. One 14500 battery lasts me a 10 hour work day, and one carto fill lasts me until breaktime.

I've been using the same box all day everyday for about 4 months and it's showing some wear, but it's working just like it did on day one.

510-threaded 3.7v Boxmod w/ cartomizers - plus of a boxmod is its on-off switch (I recommend Boge standard resistance cartos or the hotter Boge 2.0 LR ones which use your charge up faster, with thin juices 20% or less VG and preferably light color juices that don't clog the cart with flavoring sediment)

A bit fancier box mod would be Little Sister 3.7v at boxmods.net and you could check what else they have - I don't recommend variable voltage if you will be shoving it in your pocket - you may end up cranking up the voltage and damage attys or singe cartos. Get 510 threaded and try the same cartos I listed above as your first cartos - they are the most popular cartos on 510 threaded devices.

If you want something slim then top choice would be KR808D-1 manual (see SmokelessImage Volt or see Vapor4Life - the SmokelessImage ones only have manual in some colors and have a smaller button and claim slightly longer battery charge. Bloogplanet is same as Smokeless Image but I don't know if they have manuals. Get the 78mm size manual + prefilled and blank cartomizers + some juices. And Vapor4Life should have a leather lanyard if you want to hang it around your neck. manual battery so it will be hard to damage with juice leaks and easier to get a good hit. These use KR808D-1 cartos

All need eliquid - carry a couple of small bottles of eliquid to top off your cartos. I recommend thinner clearer juices.

Why do people use noalox on the REO's?
For the switch to actuate smoothly?
Does switch glide on aluminum?

It is all mechanical. The button depresses the firing pin on to the positive nipple of the battery. The firing pin completes the circuit. Because the pin itself is metal, and is the only exposed connection, it can get some oxidation on the pin, so most of us clean it every now and then (once a week to once a month) and add some noalox on the tip of the firing pin to prevent oxidation.
