Hello all. I'm starting my resolution to switch to e cigs. Getting new furniture and carpet and want to keep it nice lol. I don't know anything at all about what to buy. I've bought a couple of cheapo disposables, but I want a really good kit with two units, so I can have one charging while using the other.

cost is not really a concern, I just want the best model I can get for the money. I'm not concerned with one being a certain color or style or whatever.

Can you please give me advice on what to buy? Thanks !

welcome Bombeni!

the best advice I can give would be to visit a few vape shops if you have some in your area. see what they offer, hold different mods, see how they work, do some hands on before making a decision!

if shops aren't local, look through the different sub-forums on mods and atomizers, etc and watch some video reviews.

Hi Bombeni, welcome to the forum.

I know you said cost is not an issue, but do you have a rough budget in mind? There are possibly thousands of e-cigs on the market and it would help to know a ballpark figure.

Also, you said you used cig-a-likes. Would you prefer a device that is long and slender, something like large disposable or are you open to all shapes and forms available?

Well thanks to ALL of you friends who have given me advice so far.

A friend had one I liked, it's pretty big, had a see thru blue cartridge and a stainless I think main unit or battery part. I like a sorta big unit, easy to find in my purse or table. As far as cost, and this might get me laughed at I don't know, but I was thinking I could get a good kit with two rechargeable batteries for under a hundred dollars?

You will definiately save money buying online, but there is a benefit in being able to hold or even try before you buy. You could always check out some local shops to find what you like then order online.

I would agree with the MVP 20watt and Aspire Nautilus Mini suggestion, my girlfriend runs 5 Nautilus Minis at once and is incredibly happy with the platform. Make sure you also pick up replacement Nautilus BVC Coils, as the coils generally last around two weeks but can range from a few days to a month or more.

Welcome to the forum, and congrats on making the switch!

I'd second the iSticks, preferably the 30W, with the mini Nautilus on top - the prices for both are fairly good, the iStick's large enough to find in your pocketbook (I carry a *big* bag and I can still find it in there with just one hand digging around while driving...). If you get the blue or pink, the color also stand out nicely so they're easier to find than, say, the black. The power level's good, and the battery charge lasts a long time so you don't have to recharge as often.

The flavor and vapor from the Nautilus are really good. I would choose the BVC coil over the BDC for the Nautilus. And for both of them, you'll find much better deals on line than you will in the stores, you'll just have to patient for a bit while they ship. Good luck and enjoy your journey! Oh, and congratulations on the new furniture and carpet!

Hi! Would you explain the replacement coils you said last a couple of weeks? I truly know nothing about how this works. What part only last two weeks? I was under the impression that the battery units last a long time, then you have the refillable cartridges. Don't the cartridges last awhile?

Provari for me would be the best choice for a personal vaporizer because it's unbelievably reliable. But there are others too i.e Istick or Evolv DNA mods like VaporShark. As for an atomizer, it depends how far you want to get in this hobby; if you want to dive right in you should start with RBAs, drippers or rebuidable tank atomizers ( RDA and RTA respectively ) and ohm's law and wire gauges; if you want less hassle go with consumable attys, clearomizers being the most popular. Each of them have their own advantages and it's up to the user to discover them and decide what is best for him/her. If you are thinking about rebuildables, I suggest to have a look at the rebuildable atomizers sub-forum here and see the different choices but a kayfun lite/lite plus/mini would be the easiest atty to start or you an also try a small dripper like Marquis or Origen V2. For consumables any bottom coil clearomizer should be good if you buy from Innokin, Kanger or Aspire, there is a sub-forum for them though and you can have a look. Ask for suggestions in these sub-forums too, there will be lots of suggestions if you describe well what you are looking for ( i.e build quality, build materials, ease of use, style of vape - some atty are made to produce more vapor, some to produce flavour and some to produce throat hit, though the latter has been forgotten more or less - or other characteristics). Welcome to the forum and to vaping too :vapor:

There should be a ton of B&M's in tulsa, I would highly recommend you go to a store and check out some devices. Ask them to explain to you how it all goes together and works.

Basically you have refillable cartridges (which can be called cartomizers, atomizers, clearomizers, tanks, toppers etc.) and non-refillable ones.

Almost everyone on these forums uses what is called an open system of vaping - meaning they are using the refillable type.
These allow you to choose your e-liquid flavor and change it as frequently as you wish, as well as usually being much less expensive.

The non-refillable types will often only work with a specific type of battery connector and you will be limited on the flavors and the e-liquid inside them. I would not recommend this type of 'topper' unless you are absolutely adamant that you really don't want to spend the 30 seconds it takes to refill (or that for some reason you are physically unable to)

There are a bazillion other tricks and tips about vaping. I would recommend spending some time reading the forums, and if you can, take a trip to a local B&M. You will get a better deal buying online - but sometimes having the experience of someone walking you through the process and being able to see and touch the devices is extremely helpful.

Finally, if you really want to buy from the store you are in, take a moment to step outside and do a basic search for the equipment you are considering. Even if it's a quick look on your phone. Just to make you are not being completely taken advantage of.

Well thanks more good info! I went ahead and purchased a mpv20 and assorted juices online. I hadn't thought of youtube so after a few ppl suggested this mpv20 unit I found a video review/demo and it looks like a good one. I Am anxious to get started. So much to learn. I'm reading posts that I have no idea what they're talking about....extra shots, ohm readout, etc etc. I have a lot of reading to do. So glad to find you guys. :)

Thanks intheshade, I went ahead and made an online purchase. I'm kinda pressed on time so just did some browsing online. I did find a video reviewer on YouTube so I think Ill be able to at least get started with the mpv20. I'm going to read thru this forum to learn all the ins and outs.

These e cigs are fabulous. I do not know why I don't see more ppl using them. I go to a casino a few times a month and I never see anyone using them. Maybe seeing me some ppl will become interested and try them out. They seem to be really slow getting started.
