I don't think 24 awg kanthal is gonna cut it, 17 wraps on a 3mm diameter mandrel with a singlecoil...

My suggest is to buy the 28 awg kanthal and do the coils with it.

If you don't have an ohm meter or digital multimeter already, get one also, as you need to measure the ohms of your coils.

The Tesla has got a 3A chip in it, which in theory allows you to go down to 1.23 ohms, but I suggest staying above 1.5 ohms. You can use steam-engine.org to guesstimate the coils, but always check the coils afterwards.

From what I've read that's a 15 watt mod. I would not suggest using 24 guage kanthal on a 30 watt mod without some significant amount of wraps, and I don't prefer too many myself as they tend to hold heat. Hop on youtube and spend a few hours watching some coil building videos. It's something that's not really safe to get into without some real knowledge of it first.
