Hi all. I quit smoking in July and started vaping in Sept. After tiring of gas station brands, I just finally ordered my first V2 kit and got it yesterday. I thought it would be better quality. It is. The problem is I vape and vape and vape and the atomizer just does not last. There is supposed to be like a pack in each one, but I'm using 1-2 a day! What am I doing wrong? I'm new to all this and would appreciate some recommendations. I've attached the questionnaire. Thanks in advance.

1. How many cigarettes did you smoke or are currently smoking per day? A number is very helpful since my idea of a heavy or casual smoker could be very different from yours.ore Before I quit reali ciggs, I was smoking 1/2 pack a day or less. Now vaping 1-2 atomizers or less if Im not working form home (Im on the computer a lot)

2. Did you smoke ultra lights, lights, full flavor, filter-less, roll-your-own or cigars? Smoked Marl Medium before and am now vaping full flavor

3. How important is it for your electronic cigarette (also called a mod, PV or APV) to look like and feel like a cigarette to you? Not a big deal. I vape in private, lol.

3. Do you like things big, bulky and durable or do you prefer small and compact? I prefer compact but am flexible if it saves me $

4. Which shape is more pleasing to you to hold: something cylindrical or a box shape? Cylindrical unless it save me $

5.How long would you like or need the batteries to last in a typical day.For some this an 8 hour shift or could be 16 or more hours depending on your lifestyle.8 hrs min would be amazing. Currently lasting 2-4, depending on vapes.

6. How much effort do you want to put into vaping? Do you want something that requires little effort or are you more of a tinkerer? Generally extremely active lifestyles or someone who's constantly on the go doesn't have a lot of time but the reverse could be true for you as well Little effort. I work a lot and dont have the time, but I follow directions well!

7.Do you think you would prefer tobacco, menthol, fruit and candy or dessert flavors? Tobacco

8.Do you think you would like a warmer or a cooler vape? (A warm vape uses higher voltage or lower resistances to make the vapor warmer in your mouth while a cool vape works just the opposite) Also let us know if you have sensitivities to cold or an aversion to hot liquids.I suppose warm, but I've never tried cool.

9. What is more important to you, throat hit (that feeling of weight or tickle hitting the back of your throat when you inhale) , vapor production (the amount of vapor or steam produced by your device and/or e-liquid) orflavor(The intensity of the taste of the vapor)? Again its okay to have more than one answer but please list them in order of importance. Throat hit then flavor with some vape

10.Which is more important to you, price, quality, ease of use, or reliability? Its okay to have more than one answer just list them in order of importance. Price, quality, ease, reliability

11.How much are you looking to spend on your initial purchase or upgrade? 70-100 depending. If I can get the cartridges (or whatever) to last longer, I'd be willing to pay a higher initial investment.

12. Have you looked at any other accessories such as clearomizers, cartomizers, tanks, pre-filled cartidges etc and do you have any questions about how they work or what they are? Ive done some reading, but I am very confused on the liquid. I think switching to liquid may be a better fit bot not sure. Sorry to say, I have knowledge of basic terminology only.

13. Would you feel more comfortable vaping (popular term used to refer to inhaling vapor from an electronic cigarette, mod, PV or APV) in public or do you prefer to do it in private? Private

14. Whats your favorite coloPurple

15. Do you have any disabilities or other difficulties that might have a bearing on your choice? ex: some peoples wrists aren't strong enough to hold a big battery mod or their eyesight doesnt allow easy filling of ejuice (the liquid containing nicotine and flavoring used in electronic cigarettes, also referred to as nicquid or e-liquid) N/A

16. Have you thought about securing backup devices in the event of failure or purchasing extra batteries? No. Good idea.

17. Do you think you would prefer a battery that starts at 3.7 volts and gradually drops in voltage and vapor production as it drains or would you prefer the voltage to stay the same throughout the life of the battery Im open. Would be nice to have a long lasting battery, but it would be more nice to spend less $ on cartridges.

Thanks again for taking the time to read this. I appreciate it!
:)

From my own experience and from what I've read, you can't compare a cartridge to a pack of analogs. It all depends on how you vape but i'm going through 2-3 a day.

1. How many cigarettes did you smoke or are currently smoking per day? A number is very helpful since my idea of a heavy or casual smoker could be very different from yours.ore
I smoked just over a pack a day. About 25

2. Did you smoke ultra lights, lights, full flavor, filter-less, roll-your-own or cigars?
Marlboro menthol lights

3. How important is it for your electronic cigaretteor to look like and feel like a cigarette to you?
At first I wanted the fell and look. I've been vaping for just over a month now. Not that big a deal anymore on look and feel. Just got my first mod yesterday

3. Do you like things big, bulky and durable or do you prefer small and compact?
no preference

4. Which shape is more pleasing to you to hold: something cylindrical or a box shape?
don't think i like the look of box mods

5.How long would you like or need the batteries to last in a typical day.For some this an 8 hour shift or could be 16 or more hours depending on your lifestyle
I would like them to last forever. but a full day would be ideal

6. How much effort do you want to put into vaping? Do you want something that requires little effort or are you more of a tinkerer?
I've turned this into a hobby now. Trying to learn as much as I can. My wife told me she expects me to have a whole section of my offices dedicated to mods and supplies within a year. I wanna rebuild everything I can. DIYer all the way.

7.Do you think you would prefer tobacco, menthol, fruit and candy or dessert flavors?
Menthol so far.

8.Do you think you would like a warmer or a cooler vape?
I like warmer

9. What is more important to you, throat hit, vapor production or flavor
throat hit, vapor production, flavor, i think

10.Which is more important to you, price, quality, ease of use, or reliability?
quality, reliability, price

11.How much are you looking to spend on your initial purchase or upgrade?
$50. Just recieved my Lambo full kit yesterday.

12. Have you looked at any other accessories such as clearomizers, cartomizers, tanks, pre-filled cartidges etc and do you have any questions about how they work or what they are?
Looked into all of them. Still learning and hoping to get and build, re-build as much of these as i can

13. Would you feel more comfortable vaping in public or do you prefer to do it in private?
No preference

14. Whats your favorite color
black, chrome

15. Do you have any disabilities or other difficulties that might have a bearing on your choice? ex: some peoples wrists aren't strong enough to hold a big battery mod or their eyesight doesnt allow easy filling?
No

16. Have you thought about securing backup devices in the event of failure or purchasing extra batteries?
yes

17. Do you think you would prefer a battery that starts at 3.7 volts and gradually drops in voltage and vapor production as it drains or would you prefer the voltage to stay the same throughout the life of the battery
That's why I'm gettin VV mods

I'm still fairly new to all this to, so these are just the experiences from another noob. Good luck.

Welcome to ECF......

I started briefly with a Blu, moved to V2 and V4Life 808's like you just bought, then up to EGo sized, now using 650 Twist/Spinner with carto tanks and Vivi Novas.... I think the learning curve is just part of the process for most of us..... in the beginning I would have never been ready to use the EGo size, they seemed huge. Now the cig sized 808's just seem small......

V2 and others will tell you the 'cartridges' will equal a pack of cigs... they lie...... I currently use 2-4 ml a day....

The cloud of vapor is the most important to me, not too worried about TH

The big thing is to find what works for you, good luck with your quest......

There is supposed to be like a pack in each one

never going to happen, unless you take a drag big enough for a hamster..

full is usually 18mg which is really about medium high for real juice.
the best bet would be to get something like an ego twist or vision spinner battery kit and some clearomizers you fill yourself. much cheaper in the end and way more satisfying when you start to purchase the better tasting premixed juices.

Lok-i I too started with v2 and quickly found the batteries do not last long at all and the carts are sub-standard. They are better known as cig-alikes and good for an intro into vaping but most people move to bigger and better quickly. The prefilled cartos become very expensive in the long run. I have found a good all day battery such as an ego twist or spinner is the best next step up. Personally of the two I prefer the spinner at 1300mah. 100mah=about 1 hour of use. The v2 batts max out at about 380mah I believe. For me I found the vivi nova tank that I fill with liquid is the best way to go. I use the mega at 3.5ml and can go all day. They are easy to clean and the heads inside are replaceable for about 2.50 ea. I have been using them about 4 mos now and the heads last about 4/6 weeks if taken care of. I'm using v2 now as well... tried them after some disposable ecigs i got at the corner store... so far no major issues. One cart doesn't equal one pack of cigs for me either but the TH is pretty good. Tried all of their carts and moved onto e liquids and like them all except one. I think I may start making/mixing my own soon... From what i have read on here, they all say their kits and products are amazing, and don't always seem that way. I guess it just depends on the persons opinion?

and lol @ hamster drag...

Have you looked into something like an ego battery for on the go and a passthrough for at home? since you work from home you can have a passthrough plugged into your pc which is infinite battery life, and a couple standard ego 650 batteries will run you about $30 or 2 twists/spinners with VV will run you about $50. Life is about 100mah = 1 hour, higher the rating, longer they last

As for juice some of the more popular tobacco flavors are boba's bounty, RY4, and 555 but I hope somebody with more exp here chimes in (not a fan of tobacco flavors myself). Many of the vendors have "tobacco sampler packs" you can always try until you find the one for you. If you want more throat hit, look for higher PG content. PG = more TH, VG = more Vapor

As for juice delivery, to solve your ease of use request and carto not lasting long enough issue (which are always overestimated in life lol) you have a couple options. Clearomizers like a vivi nova or kanger T2/T3 are good options because they hold alot more juice and for the average vaping can last an entire day, and simply need to be topped off when low. Not much fiddling besides for some cleaning and replacing the head once a week or so. If you want to move up a bit with a bit of a learning curve you can have the same flavor as your little carto with a carto tank setup and again just refill. They both are good options and both have different flavor so you may like one more over the other

Hope I helped some and good luck! Welcome to ECF btw!

Your best solution, if you wish to make use of the batteries that you already have, is to get the V2 LiquiMax Blanks and buy the juice in bottles to fill your own cartridge. E Cigarette Liquid | E-Liquid at V2 Cigs

The prefilled cartridges are always going to be disappointing in how long the flavor lasts. Learn to fill your own blanks, its simple with the pop off mouthpiece. And you don't have to limit yourself to V2's liquid. Their flavor selection is rather limited once you decide to find some variety, as most vapors do. Unfortunately, V2 doesn't offer a battery lasting longer than 3-4 hours, so if you want longer time between batteries, you will need to switch to another brand.

People looking for longer battery life have two main options.

Ego intermediate-sized. Long cigar-shape form factor. These will deliver between 6 to 13 hours per battery, depending upon the length of the battery. These are rated to have around 250 charges in their life, then will need to be discarded and replaced. Cheaper to buy initially ($25 per battery), but you will need more than one to last your vaping needs all day.

Smokeless Image battery size comparisons.jpgView attachment 158304

Advanced mods. Either a flash-light looking tube device or box mod the size of a pack of cigarettes. More expensive initially ($50-200), but built more robust to last years and take some abuse. These use replaceable battries that are inexpensive ($10) and have an expected lifetime of 1 year. The charge on these batteries can be between 6-24 hours, depending upon the size of the battery. Advantage with this system is you can carry just one device with an extra battery to get through the day; with the ego system you need to carry multiple devices to get through the day.

With ejuices there are many online vendors that offer scores of flavors. Many offer inexpensive sampler packs to try their flavors with the intent that you will find some that you like and will reorder from them. I'll list a couple for you to look at:

Organically Flavored E-liquid | Virgin Vapor | Electronic Cigarette Organic e-Liquid | Electronic Cigarettes

1. How many cigarettes did you smoke or are currently smoking per day? A number is very helpful since my idea of a heavy or casual smoker could be very different from yours.ore Before I came back to vaping, I was smoking 1/2 pack per day. I haven't totally quit, but am down to about 3 cigs per day.

2. Did you smoke ultra lights, lights, full flavor, filter-less, roll-your-own or cigars? Smoke Eve Light 120's

3. How important is it for your electronic cigarette (also called a mod, PV or APV) to look like and feel like a cigarette to you? When I first discovered vaping in 2009, it was very important, now it's no big deal.

3. Do you like things big, bulky and durable or do you prefer small and compact? If vaping at home, I don't care. When out I prefer to carry something smaller than a flashlight to vape...LOL

4. Which shape is more pleasing to you to hold: something cylindrical or a box shape? I was using cylindrical; however, I purchased my first variable voltage box mod yesterday at a local vape shop and like it

5.How long would you like or need the batteries to last in a typical day.For some this an 8 hour shift or could be 16 or more hours depending on your lifestyle. I would prefer they last 10 hours, but back up batteries are a must. I haven't had the new box mod long enough to know how the battery life will be, but got about 5 hours after the first charge. Since I'm really trying to quit again, I'm vaping constantly which affects my battery life.

6. How much effort do you want to put into vaping? Do you want something that requires little effort or are you more of a tinkerer? I prefer something that requires little effort. I'm extremely busy with work and elderly parents and don't have time to tinker right now.

7.Do you think you would prefer tobacco, menthol, fruit and candy or dessert flavors? Nutty Tobacco flavor (555) is my current favorite

8.Do you think you would like a warmer or a cooler vape? (A warm vape uses higher voltage or lower resistances to make the vapor warmer in your mouth while a cool vape works just the opposite) Also let us know if you have sensitivities to cold or an aversion to hot liquids. I prefer warm.

Throat hit first, flavor and vapor production tie for second place. :)

10.Which is more important to you, price, quality, ease of use, or reliability? Its okay to have more than one answer just list them in order of importance. Quality, Reliability, Ease of Use, Price. One caveat, price played a factor when I purchased this vv box mod. I wanted to try vv without spending $200. I purchased a lower end vv to try. If I like it, I will upgrade at some point.

11.How much are you looking to spend on your initial purchase or upgrade? $70-$100 depending on what I'm trying.

12. Have you looked at any other accessories such as clearomizers, cartomizers, tanks, pre-filled cartidges etc and do you have any questions about how they work or what they are? OMG, I got clearomizers (I believe they are CE4 XL or something like that) with the kit I purchased yesterday and I LOVE them. Back in 2009, I became so frustrated with the cartridges and replacing filling material and constantly filling them with eliquid. I'm thrilled with these clearomizers and can see myself looking at tanks at some point in the future since they hold more eliquid.

13. Would you feel more comfortable vaping (popular term used to refer to inhaling vapor from an electronic cigarette, mod, PV or APV) in public or do you prefer to do it in private? Either is fine with me.

14. Whats your favorite colo Black or sliver for my e-cigs.

15. Do you have any disabilities or other difficulties that might have a bearing on your choice? ex: some peoples wrists aren't strong enough to hold a big battery mod or their eyesight doesnt allow easy filling of ejuice (the liquid containing nicotine and flavoring used in electronic cigarettes, also referred to as nicquid or e-liquid) No

16. Have you thought about securing backup devices in the event of failure or purchasing extra batteries? Absolutely! Back up hardware is essential, plus a USB car charger adapter is a must.

17. Do you think you would prefer a battery that starts at 3.7 volts and gradually drops in voltage and vapor production as it drains or would you prefer the voltage to stay the same throughout the life of the battery The batteries I've had have always been the "drops in voltage/vapor" type, which is annoying. I would prefer one that stays the same throughout the life of the battery.

Thanks all. Very helpful info. I still need to do some self-educating on the terms , but very helpful overall! Silly question: If I go for the Vivi, then I buy the Spinner as the battery? I like the idea that I can just clean the tank easily and then go. Looks like it will last lots longer too since its bigger and holds more juice. Looks like a better investment too. I am also looking and the E-go, as a few folks here and elsewhere have mentioned it and said they liked it.

Very helpful, thanks! I had totally not considered salvaging the batteries I have, duh. Good insight on the E-go, too. I just got off the phone with V2, and it looks like their blanks are the same size as carts. I think I may need to just go on to a bigger tank and charger. Someone else mentioned the Vivi and Spinner. Have some thinking to do. Thank yoU!

Since you already have a V2, you may want to look into getting a Volt X2 or an iGo/vGo model. They're larger batteries with better battery life, but they're 808/eGo threaded so you can still use your V2 batteries and carts. If you move to an eGo system you need all new carts and/or adapters to use your old equipment. There are a number of tank options for the larger vGo batteries as well.

I have been vaping since ecigs hit the USA. I also vaped with V2 for 2 years. You are doing nothing wrong. I have 5 V2 batteries. Like you it became annoying always charging batteries. This has been my solution. After much research, this is what works for me. I took advantage of one of V2's holiday 25% off storewide sales and bought ALOT of cartonomizers. I rotate and refill them with ejuice 20 at a time. You can refill them many times if you rotate enough. I bought 2 EGO Twists, 2 chargers, 2 Vivi Nova tanks and 3 mini nova tanks. I bought 3 30ml of eliquid. The Twists will hold a good charge for 2 days as I rotate them. The above cost me less combined than I paid for my V2 kit. It also opened a whole vaping world for me.

1. i smoked 1 to 1 1/2 packs daily.

2. I smoked Seneca Mentol light 100's

3. How important is it for your electronic cigarette (also called a mod, PV or APV) to look like and feel like a cigarette to you? Very Important. I drive for 10-12 hours some days.
3. I got the green smoke, same as wife.

5.How long would you like or need the batteries to last in a typical day. I'm getting about 12 hours out of their large battery.

6. How much effort do you want to put into vaping? Do you want something that requires little effort or are you more of a tinkerer? I prefer something that requires little effort. I'm extremely busy with work and elderly parents and don't have time to tinker right now. Our system came from a local store and we found a e cig place miles away and now i'm learning about mixing my own.

7.Do you think you would prefer tobacco, menthol, fruit and candy or dessert flavors? Nutty Tobacco flavor (555) is my current favorite I was thinking just tobacco but am quickly realizing that it's not a sin to love black raspberry

Throat hit first, flavor and vapor production tie for second place. Has to smoke like a cig. Hit, nicotine and feel of smoking.

Price compared to our reservation cigs at $31.09 a carton, almost anything is cheaper :)

11.How much are you looking to spend on your initial purchase or upgrade? $70-$100 depending on what I'm trying. $250 with mixing kits and black tubes...

We've gotten 30 blank cartridges and 10 flavors and 2 batteries each.

13. Would you feel more comfortable vaping (popular term used to refer to inhaling vapor from an electronic cigarette, mod, PV or APV) in public or do you prefer to do it in private? Either is fine with me. I'm well over 18 and don't mind that anyone knows that I smoke and now I vape.

15. Do you have any disabilities or other difficulties that might have a bearing on your choice? ex: some peoples wrists aren't strong enough to hold a big battery mod or their eyesight doesnt allow easy filling of ejuice (the liquid containing nicotine and flavoring used in electronic cigarettes, also referred to as nicquid or e-liquid) N0

16. Have you thought about securing backup devices in the event of failure or purchasing extra batteries? Absolutely! Back up hardware is essential, plus a USB car charger adapter is a must. Never leave the house without an extra battery and cartriage.

So I went with the Vivi Nova and Spinner for the big guns. I also ordered liqui blanks to get me by with the v2 batteries I already have. And, I ordered some juice from mountain. Still waiting on the big guns to arrive, but the liqui blanks are doing the trick so far. Really wish I would have switched sooner...I wasted lots of money on carts. Thanks everyone!
