Need Advice: Back in the Game After 3 Years

Hello,

I have a sort of different situation here, so I need some good advice. I'm not a newbie but have been away from vaping long enough that I need some expert counsel.

I switched to vaping in October 2010. I really enjoyed it, and stopped smoking tobacco altogether until mid-2011. Then (for reasons I won't go into here) went back to cigarettes. Now I want to go back to vaping and give up cigarettes again.

After a lot of trial and error in 2010 (gas station e-cigs, etc.), I settled on a (what was then called) a Joye "eGo" clone from a Chinese company. I can't remember what the company was called, but the e-cig consisted of a large battery that screwed into a vaporizer and then you added the plastic tip. I typically dripped when I smoked (i.e., dripped the fluid right into the vaporizer). I found a juice I really liked from a US company and stuck with it. I rarely went out without my e-cig and juice in a pouch. I only really vaped at home or discreetly at work, so having a completely "mobile" e-cig wasn't (and isn't now) a real need.

The pros to this setup are I got a nice, heavy, flavorful hit and the battery lasted a good long time (6+ hours). The cons were the single atomizers didn't last too long (a month or less, even with careful cleaning).

So I go back this week to find a similar setup to what I had, and it was like I had woken up in the next century. There are so many choices, brands, prices -- I don't know where to start.

The whole eGo starter setup was about $60, if I recall. I want to stay around that price range (i.e. under a $100) if someone could recommend a good starter kit.

Thanks in advance for your help and recommendations.

I've been using a Vision Spinner and a Protank II, vaping Boba's Bounty all day every day. You could call me a fanboy but any time people ask for advice on what to get, I point them in that direction. Got the spinner for $25 US, the Protank for about $20. I get 5 packs of the evod coils for about $5, and using boba's bounty I typically go through about 1 a week. I'm sure they can last longer than that, though. Rebuildable coils are something to look into if you're into saving money, but I don't really have the time.

My gf uses a protank mini which is understandable since it's a bit more form fitting and not quite as top heavy but I don't mind that in mine.

Hopefully others can chime in with their setups and point you in the right direction.

I haven't been vaping long, but I started with the egos (after a brief stint with Blus). If I was recommending something to start with now for a friend or family member, I would probably recommend the MVP 2. Here it is for 39.99: Innokin iTaste MVP V2.0 - 101 Vape.

I can't help any on toppers. I'm primarily using a Kanger aerotank right now and have a protank 2.0 and some iclears (30, 30b, and 16b) that I use occasionally. I have not tried dripping or rebuilding yet, but I'm about to head in that direction.

I use among others the Itaste MVP2 (box) and the VV v3. Both with the Kanger protank 2 mini's. Same coils are used as already mentioned.

If you don't have a problem with the box look the MVP will stay charge up to 3 days on a charge as the VV is somewhere around 6-8 hours but both operate the same.

Whatever you get I would get backups as soon as possible. You don't want to be without if something quits working.

Good luck.
