Hello,

I'm brand new to vapeing and I just received my eVic with the ECA changeable atomizer in the mail today. I have 4 cigarettes left and I'm excited (not to mention my wife) that I can now actually quit smoking for good. I've quit and started again many times, I think this time will hold because I do like smoking and vapeing allows me to do that in a healthier way. I started using it and I'm very pleased with the huge vape clouds and throat hit. I'm looking for some advice on 3 key issues. I have been spending alot of time trying to find the answers online but I'm getting more confused so I'm reaching out here for some advice / support.

How do I know what atomizer head to order as replacements for the ECA? Are they all standard? I did order 5 ECA Cartridges but the pamphlet insert mentioned that I may need to replace the atomizer head for better vapeing performance, so I want to be prepared before I need it.

Also, I observed a video on YouTube where someone was using the eVic but they had a clear / see-through atomizer on theirs and I like the looks of that but again I’m uncertain when I’m viewing parts online as how to know if it is compatible with the eVic. What should I be looking for? Or how do I know what is compatible and what is not?
Can someone explain the difference as it relates to vapeing between low and regular resistance atomizers? Right now I’m using my eVic at 3.8V for a good throat hit. Is there a specific replacement atomizer I should look for?
And lastly, I have a coworker who gave me some e Liquid 18mg/ml to try. I’m off work for a week on vacation and I’m looking online to order a variety of flavors of e liquid but everything states 0 nicotine, where do I order some with the 18mg/ml nicotine?
I thank you in advance for your advice, I do greatly appreciate it.
Thanks & Have a great day!

Any clearomizer or tank with either a 510 or eGo thread will fit on your evic. You just have to experiment with different types to find what works best for you. I like the evod line. Generally lower ohm means warmer vapor and more throat hit.

As for the 0 nic, you live in Canada and your government has a problem somewhat with liquids that contain nicotine. There should be a few threads around aboot it. My understanding is that its available, just kind of under the table.

Hey,
First of all good luck quitting smoking. I quit myself about 6 months ago using Ecigs and it's been one of the best things to have happened to me. I can smell/taste again, don't smell like smoke, can finally breathe, can exercise and workout without feeling out of breath, list goes on and on. At first when I stopped I still craved an actual cigarette which is kinda weird because, even tho I was good on nicotine, I still needed a real cigarette. Eventually tho it just became more of a hassle for me to continue smoking and it felt so limiting compared to the ecig, couldn't smoke inside, anywhere, etc. so definitely good luck, and with the Evic you've got just about all the perfect tools to help you quit.

So you got an Evic, awesome! I don't have an Evic myself, have an Ego-C Twist, but I'm looking to get an Evic very soon and I still can definitively answer most of your questions. So with Ecig's there two main components that make it work: the battery, in your case the evic main body (without ECA), and the Atomizer (or heating element which can be Atomizer, Clearomizer, Tank, etc.) or in your case the atomizer is the ECA for your evic. The ECA has cartridges which you can fill and replace but what they are saying is over time, and it doesn't matter what kind of heating element it is (atomizer, clearomizer, tank, etc), it will lose its ability to heat and need to be replaced. It sounds like what they are saying is you will eventually need to replace the ECA and get a new one. I didn't realize any of this either until a couple months after I had my Ego and it wasn't hitting as well as it used to.

So what most people do, and what you might want to look into as well, is get another heating element instead of the native Joyetech ECA that comes with the Evic. It is probably confusing seeing Cartomizer, Atomizer, Clearomizer and I know I was like do I need a cartomizer and an atomizer or a coil or what so I'll try and clear that up for you. Basically they're all just different kinds of heating elements and different ways to vape. Like I mentioned earlier, the only two things required are The Battery and the Heating Element. And it really all comes down to preference as every heating element has certain characteristics that make them different and better in different ways. The only thing you really gotta know when looking for what kind of heating element will be compatible with your Evic is 510 Threading. There are basically two main sizes of threading for Ecigs and theres the Ego threading (slightly bigger) and the 510 Threading. Other Joyetech products like the Ego's all have both (ego and 510) but the Evic only has the 510 threading so you gotta make sure if you're looking at getting a clearomizer, tank, that it has the 510 threading. Hope I'm not making this too complicated for you..

Although it may sound limiting that the Evic only has 510 threading, almost all of the atomizers, clearomizers, tanks (at least the good ones anyway) all use 510 threading. Now onto Resistances. So the resistance, which is in Ohms, is how much resistance is given to the heating element and basically the lower the resistance the hotter the vape and heating element. Low Resistance can provide a better throat hit and stronger vapor however it's definitely not for everyone. I myself smoked filter-less cigarettes and thought I would definitely like a low resistance atomizer but I absolutely did not and just prefer a usual 2.2 ohm resistance. Now onto changing the resistance on your evic. So while the resistance on the heating elements, ohm, is the lower the hotter the vape, the opposite is true for changing the voltage or wattage on your Evic. If you were seeing anything about low resistance it was probably referring to an atomizer versus changing it on your evic. With your Evic tho you can increase or decrease the Voltage and Wattage and that can certainly change the taste and hit of your vape. Like I said I've never had an Evic so I don't know much about changing wattage but with using a variable voltage I just like to stick to the recommended voltage as increasing it too high can make it taste funny or burnt to me. With your evic you can even allow the Evic to decide what volt and watt it suggests you vape with whatever device so if you get a new clearomizer/tank it'll suggest what would work best for that device and that will probably be your best bet, at least in the beginning. When looking at atomizers, clearomizers, tanks I definitely have a couple recommendations too. I myself have tried just about every kind of atomizer, clearomizer, tank and what works best for me, and what I'd highly recommend, is the Vision V-fate 3.0 ML. Especially with your evic it'll look really cool but I really like the Vision V-fate, or Vivi Novas (Vision Vivi Novas are the predecessor to the V-fate) because they seem to have a consistently good hit, huge cloud of vapor, tastes amazing, and they last for a long time. I tried bottom coils, like the Pro Tank (which a lot of people would also recommend and especially if you're looking for a good throat hit) but for me I'm mostly vaping horizontally anyway so bottom coils aren't the best. Plus I didn't like the way the taste on the Pro Tank II after a couple days became so muted that I couldn't even tell what I was vaping, aside from the fact that every couple weeks you have to replace the coils. Oh so I'll tell you about that too. I'm not exactly sure on the ECA and if you can replace the coil separately, which case you wouldn't have to replace the entire ECA just the coil, but with most other Clearomizers, Tanks you just replace the coil when it loses it's ability to heat. I hope this all helps and If I think of anything else, I'll definitely post it. If you have any other questions too just post them or message me and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Oh and befor I forget I would also highly highly highly recommend using MyVaporStore.com for all your ecig supplies and PinkSpotVapors.com for your Eliquid. My Vapor Store provides unparalleled customer service and even tho they ship from New York, even with the cheapest shipping option I always get my package on the west coast within three days and most of the time if I order one replacement coil they'll give me an extra for free. Love them and I'd definitely recommend them. Peace

Evic does have both 510 and eGo threads.

They just aren't readily visible because they are below the beauty ring or top cap on the control head.

Thank you so much for your advice and feedback, I appreciate it. I'm definately on the learning curve here but now, (thanks to your feedback), I do have a better understanding to get me started. I was getting so confused because when I was reading about a cartomizer and atomizer's I didn't clearly understand the difference and why some mentioned replacement coils. Now I just hope that vapeing goes as good with my morning coffee as cig's did ;)

I'm checking out MyVaporStore.com now.

Thanks again. :)

I definitely recommend using a kanger made bottom coil clearomizer. The EVOD and the T3S are my favorites. You can spend a few more dollars on a protank or protank mini, but until you find a juice that is known to damage the plastic tanks (i.e. cinnamon, banana or citrus) it really isn't necessary. If you go with the T3S (my favorite) you may need a 510 to ego adapter to use with your Evic. It tends to bottom out before making contact inside.

No matter what you decide, the most important thing in my opinion is to find the ejuice you really like. It makes it a lot easier to fight the urge for a cigarette.

Good luck and enjoy.

Well, as you can see, everyone has an opinion about vaping. One size, though, does not fit all. With the eVic (V2 I hope?), you have a very good battery, a better display, with vv and vw and the all important ohm meter. Using vw allows you to not have to worry about the ohms on the coil, the eVic will adjust the voltage to match the resistance just fine. I vaped with an eVic for a long time using vw and found it very helpful, particularly since I was trying lots of different toppers and different resistance heads.

So, you have a great battery, and now you need to find some great juices (sampler packs is the key idea here), and some toppers that get the job done for you. The normal evolution is something like CE clearos, kanger bottom coils, Protanks, cartomizers, drippers, then RBA's. YMMV. Everyone's VapeQuest is different, but we see this evolution frequently on this Forum. My suggestion is keep trying different devices until you find the one that works for you. Also, different juices will affect this and even the way you vape will affect this. Some people have coils that last them for weeks. Mine last two or three days. I vape differently from some and use different juice than some, and this affects my coil life. Also, I'm not that big into cleaning coils anymore. If I have to, I can rebuild a coil in less than five minutes for about the cost of a nickel, so why worry about cleaning? Every journey is different, and the different stories can be read here every day, and it's interesting and exciting, and most people are able to quit smoking by vaping, when many, perhaps all other methods failed them. That's the bottom line. You're not smoking any more, and now your search is to find the vape that works best for you. Sometimes this takes days, sometimes months, sometimes years. As long as your vaping and not smoking, you've already won. Congrats to your winning, good luck on your VapeQuest, welcome to the Forum, power up and Vape On!

While there has been great and detailed advice already given out in this thread, I'd like to submit a pragmatic suggestion to you.

If I had an eVic and I was new to vaping, I'd find a juice I liked reasonably well while the atomizer I have still works, set the eVic to pump out 7-8 watts, and shove every juice delivery method I could on my eVic. Just research the different styles of juice delivery (i.e. atomizer, clearomizer, cartomizer) and try a couple of each to see what you like.

You could be smart and read a lot of reviews (or watch YouTube videos if you're more of a visual learner) and decide from there, but experience goes a long way too. It definitely wouldn't hurt to find out what sucks before you buy, though, so don't be too hasty.

From there, you can get to messing with juices on a deeper level and hopefully you've picked up some knowledge about resistance, power, current, and other such technical things. The main thing I's like to stress in all of this, though, is have fun! You have probably one of the most advanced PV 's out there, so play around and enjoy your sweet piece!

I am newer to vaping as well but I am going to drop a little more than 2 cents in here that took me a bit to figure out and once I did it made my time using the Evic a litte more enjoyable.

When you're Evic starts up it gives you the "recommended" setting of 5.2 Watts if you're in wattage mode. I forget in volts because I never use it. But there is a reason for that. Joyetech original e-Go batteries and the upgraded batteries have a constant output or output mode of 3.3 volts. The reason for that is at that voltage with a 2.2 Ohm (which is the standard for Joyetech) atomizer you get around 1.49 amps and just under 5 watts in power. but the 2.2 ohms as with any coil is plus or minus a point or two and at 3.3 volts with a 2.1 ohm atomizor you get 5.18 watts and 1.57 amps. Still within Joyes target "recommendations.

The reason why I am throwing all this math out is this is the basis for the concept of "high resistance" vs. "low resistance" coils and the basis for them. Joye works on a lower power level scheme. If you use an Ohm's Law Calculator to calculate 3.7 volts that other's base their power standards around you will find a simular difference between 2.2 Ohms and 2.5 at the higher voltage level.

That being said, this is a Joyetch product. And although I really like about the Evic, I don't like it's 5 volt limit. The reason why it's got a lower power scheme is for the reason above though. Joyetech basing it's atomizers around a 2.2 ohm resistance and a lower power scale combined with using lower amp batteries (the infamous pink samsung is a solid battery. That being said it has a 5.2 amp max output and shouldn't be pushed that hard for more than a few seconds ever,) this is IMHO one of the best "learning" mods and tools for the lower power ranges. I personally wouldn't try and drive anything more than 3 Ohm's in single or 2 Ohms in a double coil configuration because it's just not going to put out the power to give you the full range of High Resistance/High Voltage vaping that those HR coils require.

But with all the options it features and and the MVR software like others have said above me, it will help keep a record of how you like each juice and figure out the settings that works best for each coil and tank and the juice you use with them. It's like a vaping journal and roadmap and I enjoy looking at the charts when I use it. I'm sure I am dropping a lot of what seems like a lot of unneeded information but the more I got into vaping the more I tried to figure out which coil worked best at what voltage and why. When I figured out that different coil and and E-go and mod makers based their designs around a certain "base" power scale it seemed to make it a lot easier for me to get the results I wanted out of different things I used and mixed and matched together.

I hope this was a little bit helpful, sorry if it was just a headache...I hope you enjoy your Evic as much as I have and good luck to you. And as always...Happy Vaping! :toast:
