I'm really at the end of my rope here. I've been vaping for a few months and have not found the one batt that will satisfy me. I don't plan on going back to cigs if I stop vaping, but at this point I'm ready to give up vaping all together. I'm not the kind of guy that just buys anything either, I did a lot of research for the last two kits I purchased.

I recently bought a gogo, at first it wasn't bad, it gave a decent hit, the batteries lasted forever, and the cartos are outstanding. But the problem is they are not built well. I had to return one within two weeks because it started rattling, and now I just had one die on me today. It won't fire at all and it won't charge.

This was very disappointing because I thought that my search was over.

Vaping has caused more stress than pleasure at this point and I'm tired of spending money on *&^%. i realize vaping will cost a bit at first, but this is ridiculous. In the last 3 months, I've spent close to 200 on batteries and cartos. Yes, i know it's far cheaper than reg cigs, but it also shouldn't be costing this much imo.

All I want is a battery that lasts, uses cartos(I, durable, and doesn't cost me a fortune.

I just want to settle on a brand and be don't with it. I would like to enjoy vaping, not constantly wonder if my batt is going to die or break.

I know vaping is subjective, but any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I was kind of in the same spot as you. I was using 3 ego batts per day, etc.. I just got this a few weeks ago. Got 4 AW 18350's with it and the charger some Boge 3.2ohm carto's (charger and carto's from mad vapes), I could not be more happy. The batt's last me all day @ 5 volts and the unit is really a beast. At the 3.7 volt setting it is a champ, and for me the batts would probably last a day and a half for me. So far it is holding up great and I use it all day long. Only thing is I'm not sure if they carry the charger for the batts yet; got mine from madvapes. Here is a link to discount vapers ecf thread, seems to be a good vendor, IMO. I wouldn't say that the madvapes charger is one I would buy again so... Also need a multimeter for testing batts I think. I do anyways.

Thats what has made me happy anyways.

Maybe you should just try a battery mod. You can use them with any carto and buy batteries at your local hardware. Small and simple and mechnical, maybe a small RoughStack from MadVapes. Slighly bigger, a LavaTube or Provari Mini. Big, previous two in large sizes.
I have the little RoughStack and it's a workhorse with a LR carto. I also have the Provari and love it, although I would have preferred the mini if it had been available at that time.
There are really so many types of mods, maybe someone else can chime in. I like what LookMa suggested. never hear of it, but looks good!

Angryguy... take a good look at the KGO. I think it's just what you're looking for. It's 520 threaded, so there's tons of options for it as far as carto's, atty's, and tanks are concerned. One battery lasts more than a day for me, and I consider myself a pretty heavy vaper. I use Boge 2.0 cartos, EMDCCs, and 1.7 ohm resurrector cartos and it truly could not be easier. No muss, no fuss. Long battery life, great throat hit and vapor, and the cartos are super easy to fill. I hope you find something you like!

After reading this thread I'm trying to understand the big differences between the lava tube and the ProVari V2. There seems to be a BIG price difference but I'm having a hard time finding vendors that sell the ProVari. I'd need the kit since I only have charging equipment for 650-1100 mah single-piece units (and no batteries), which I'm getting tired of, much like the original post describes.

Can anyone point me to deals on either a good lava tube or ProVari. Oh, and are both backward compatible with my Stardust and single coil LR and SR cartos?

Only ProVape sells the ProVari. Both the LT and ProV are 510 threaded.

If you're looking for a deal on the ProVari, I would suggest looking in the classifieds for a used one.

I'd suggest maybe using a 5 volt mod with some 2.5 ohm to 3.2 ohm cartos. 5 volt mods like a passthrough using a 2 amp 5 volt wall plug and a usb cable to supply power, they are extremely cheap and if at your pc very user friendly. As for a 5 volt mod here a great review for the joker a 5 volt regulated mod which you can get in adjustable voltage also. I suggest these because I think they would be great for anyone that lacks impact from vaping after quitting analogs. Vaping is not like smoking or least it wasnt for me when I started, I started on a Blu starter kit and it was hell not going and buying cigs with that kit so I get where you are right now completely. I got my 1st pass-through a month ago just a smoktech 5 volt pt and regulator I plug into the wall rather than use my pc terminals (as wall plug is more consistent) I find myself hitting these more like a real cig short drag and deep inhale, producing plumes of vapor compared to the 6 sec drags I was taking at 3.7 volts and getting half the result. I dont own a joker i have an omega which is still 3.7 volts but I really only grab it when I go out and stuff when I am here on the pc I am always using my lil 17 dollar passthrough. The joker also uses pulse width modulation which greatly extends the life of your bats between charges people are claiming 20+ hours str8 vape time from these. Also the joker is fairly cheap compared to other regulated / adjustable voltage pvs out there.

the review sorry I left it out of my post derp

Hi mate,
The difference between the ProVari and lavatube apart from price is the build/component quality of the ProVari is top notch, it holds it's voltage under load, 3.5 amp limit (V2) compared to lavatube 2.5 amp which means you can run LR carts etc at a higher voltage + ProVari is US made.

However the Lavatube does do a similar job and you will be able to buy a new starter kit (tube, batteries, charger) for your $100 or less

My suggestion in post #2 cost 50-60 bucks for all you need, pending battery and charger brand. Chagrer($10), XL carto ($2.50)that works amazing on it, Batteries ($9 each, 2 at least (I suggest 4)), VV mod(27$).

Thanks for this! I like how specific you are. Just curious, are you the one who wrote the good review of the VV on their Discount Vapor's product page? Are you affiliated with them? I mainly ask because I wonder how long you've been using and liking this system. Also do you know if the connection would allow for the new Stardust carto (I think also called EGO CE4)? Can is take a standard Ego cartomizers? I have 2 boxes of 2.0 single coils in my supply. If not , are there adapters?

Lastly, the only concern I have with that system is accidentally not heeding the warning about using under 3 ohms at too high a voltage. Is that anything you worry about?

Yep, I wrote the review there, and the review on the mega carto's at vaping zone. Here is a review of the unit (under a different name) by imo, the best product reviewer (he has not so good white version of it(cheaper/weaker white plastic)). Here is another and another. I personally have not had any of the minor problems the 2nd reviewer had. I think it may be that the AW batteries are much better and fit well.
If you want to use a stardust you will need a '510 to ego adaptor' (see the third review linked for comments on it). That adaptor will also allow you to use a tank if you like (I would not suggest the ones on these sites, granted I believe I may have gotten a 'lemon', but for ~10 bucks more there are much better options i believe).

I'm pretty sure that warning is just there so you dont fry a carto, I use under 3 ohm on it with no worries/problems. I will say though that those cartos I linked, hold a nice amount of juice (~90 drops i think), hassle free, and vape awesome at 5 and 6 volts. I'm not sure if you have used the stardust, but they seem to rob juices of thier flavor pretty badly and dry hits, but thats just me.

my lava tube comes today. i will let you know how well it works. it has some issues with regulating the voltage for you so you dont blow a LR carto up and the lava tube cant use duel coil cartos well either. for example: if you have a 1.5ohm carto you wont be able to go past 3.3v, even if you set it at 5v. no matter what you do it stays at 3.3v. if you use a duel coil it recgonizes it as a LR cartos and wont let you go too high 3.8v usually is the cut off, no matter what you set it to. i vape 2.0ohm LR cartos, and the highest setting it can go to 4.8v for a 2.0ohms which is more then plenty for me. 3ohm carto can hit 5.6v and 4ohm can hit 6.1v. so if your going to use anything lower then a 2.0 carto or duel coil carto lava tube wouldnt be for you.
