Hi I've smoke ecigs for about 3 years and over the last 2.5 years had trouble with sinuses and tonsils, I've eradicated everything over the years to rule out culprits. It's my ecig kind of knew it was, but really didn't want it to be. I make my own organic eliquid vg no pg. I'm on 4mg nicotine. I need an ecig that's going to be gentle on my sinuses, no big clouds, no burning taste, the less eliquid I use the better. My face is swollen from sinuses, but I love vaping, it's my only vice. Please can you help?
Thanks
Sarah

You may want to vape unflavored for a while, to figure out if flavorings cause you problems. Organic is not equivalent to safe. Also, increasing nicotine may help (by decreasing juice consumption).

Can you go for a week without vaping to check if your problem is really vape-associated? (I do not know if I can...)

Thanks alien traveller will give the flavour a miss in my next liquid, but don't think I could give up vaping for a week! Is there an ecig that you could recommend that would give me less vapour? But not a cheap one as they taste burnt and harsh.
Kaahn I thought pg was the one that caused problems not the vg? Meaning allergies etc. I'd prefer to keep to vg really as its a natural product and seems more safer too me?
Thanks for responses guys much appreciated

3 of the 4 major bases in e-liquids can pose an allergy. PG is the most common. VG can cause problems as well, mostly the biggest one being the body metabolizing it adequately, building up in the lungs and sinuses, though less common. The third are the flavorings themselves, being majority of flavorings are suspended in PG, a lot of people throw it to a PG allergy, but it is the PG and flavoring combined making the problem in this instance. As stated above, try an unflavored, doing this for a couple days, if things clear up the flavoring is the culprit, if not, next would be to try using liquids with a bit more PG in them, will make them a bit harsher, but will also lower vapor production down, 30pg/70vg up to a 50pg/50vg up to a 70pg/30vg over a couple days.

But in truth and honesty, suggestions listed above aside, set up an appointment with your family physician for an recommended allergy/internal medicine specialist and request tests for PG and VG allergies, especially with the fact your sinuses are so swollen

Also I've noticed since I started vaping is higher VG juices tend to make my nose run more often than with a more even mix of PG/VG. Maybe the higher VG content is sending your sinuses into a tizzy.
I second this.

For unknown reasons I have issues with the right sinus cavity filling with fluid and causing major pain. Seen an ENT and they can't find a cause (this was before i started vaping). Have no problems with higher PG, but as soon as I vape 50/50 or higher VG the nose starts running and I can feel fluid draining from that cavity. Could be affecting your sinuses similarly.

ETA: make sure you're getting plenty of fluids. That may be what's helping it drain (for me) instead of completely blocking up.

PG does cause allergies. Just in my observations VG makes my nose run more especially exhaling through your nose. It is condensation. VG gives you bigger clouds hence more condensation. PG less clouds more flavor less condensation. The allergies caused by PG are more of an allergic reaction rather than condensation from vapor production. Who knows you might not have as many problems going with higher PG content. I wouldn't say VG is any more safer/healthier than PG. Both have their own chemical properties and effect people in different ways. My suggestion to you is to give it a try with a higher PG content...like a 50/50 ratio and see how it plays out. You might find your allergies are consistent with VG rather than PG. Of course I am no doctor so I always have to suggest speaking with an ENT if you haven't already. I wish you all the luck in working this issue out!

On a side note on how PG and VG affects someone in different ways. When I started vaping I started with a 50/50. After several weeks I noticed a more constant ringing in my ears than my normal tinitus caused. I've had tinitus for a while. A slight ring from time to time. Not constant but once a week if not less that lasts about an hour to a few hours at a time. Enter vaping and noticed ringing around the clock. It was driving me crazy. Done some research and found others having the same issue. Most opinions were leaning to pg as the cause. So I decided to go to a heavier VG ratio...70vg. After about a couple of weeks my ringing subsided significantly, not back to normal levels though, but I noticed my nose would not stop running. I mean it was like a faucet. After several weeks of constant running I just couldn't stand it any more. So I made a conscious decision that I would rather deal with the ringing rather than a pocket full of snot rags all the time so I switched back to a 50/50. Now after 8 months smoke free and vaping mostly 50/50 and dripping higher VG I've noticed I do not get some of those same symptoms I had in the beginning. My tinitus seems to have normalized and my nose doesn't run at all and I Vape ratios all over the spectrum. I reckon the moral of this story is...different strokes for different folks. What might seem to affect others might not affect you in the same ways. Give 50/50 a try. It might surprise you. Good luck!

So I am having similar issues: I do get the nose running and post nasal drip; however, my issue right now is a cough. I do have seasonal allergies with similar symptoms but in this case my allergies have gotten worse ever since I began vaping on a regular basis. I used to only vape on the weekends when I have drinks. I have not tried max VG yet. I run a evic tc with a sub-tank mini. I have avoided max VG because of wicking issues with my subtank.
