Been using Boge LR cartos for a while now and happy. The only problem with these is that after 1 or 2 refills, the carto doesn't take more than 5 or 6 drops and starts leaking from the battery end. I am wasting lots of juice. Would like to go for something which will last a while and also saves some liquid. Went through some posts and found that ce2 r4 clearomizer is worth a try. I am using Riva 510 at 750mAH.
1. What ohms should I prefer 3 ohms or LR clearomizer at 2.6-2.8 ohms?
2. I would like to go for XL to avoid refill frequently. Do I face problems with burnt plastic taste when the liquid is half-full? I've seen some guys experienced this?

I like the clearomizers. But, I like the MAP Tank more!
The more space the wicks have in the juice the better.

With a Riva, I would choose 2.8 ohm to be safe and not get the burned taste.
I have found with my VG Juice, I don't get the burned taste.
If you find while vaping the carto it gets dry, just invert it to make the juice flow to the top.

Only problem I've been faced with when it comes to clearomizers, are cracked tubes after a couple of refills. I found that I hate throwing perfectly good inerds away due to the tubes not being very sturdy (I'm rough on them). I use BD brand 3ml syringe tubes to replace them once they crack out. This is the only brand that will fit these. They are the perfect diameter and don't leak. All you need is a sharp box knife, cut to fit, assembe, fill and your good to go. They last along time with a little cleaning. I've been using one for about 6 weeks now.

Bruce is also selling MAP tanks. Another great investment IMO. I love these but still waiting patiently to get a couple of mini's to try.

I mostly vape at 4v and above and like the 3.0-3.2ohm range. It just depends on your tastes. The lower the ohm, the hotter they burn. To my understanding, 2.8 or lower are what most people like on the eGo batteries.

I haven't had any problems with burnt plastic taste. Most people don't heat them up to melt the plastic. I had a Buzz that was turning itself on. I found it out after it almost melted the clearomizers. Even with it warped really bad, I vaped it out and it tasted fine.

after using clearomizers for several weeks, i could never go back to cartomizers with filler. I had the same experience with Boge cartos. Fantastic wicking and vape for about 2 refills, and then they become useless.

I like 2.4-2.6 clearos myself, for a nice warm hit and the coil stays pretty clean. That's another reason i will never go back to regular carto's or for that matter, i'm not interested in regular atomizers either. I can actually clean these, mod them with a BD syringe and easily maintain them for performance. They are super cheap too.
