We own two complete T-Rex kits followed by 4-6 spar batteries. We also own The Chuck(3 years now/no issues) and GLV mods(2 years/no issues). Hubby has no choice as he is a heart patient so analogs are out of the question. We love the big mods but quite honestly do not want to walk around with these heavy beasts all the time. It appeared T-Rex was the answer so I thought... but it has become a constant problem. The $ spent are . Hubby has had button issues on all of his and one fell apart after 10 charges. One of mine is a button issue along with the wiring case just falling off after charging. We have put them back together so many times but they are a done deal and have just given up. We take care of our devices. No issues at all with the heavy weights or regular cheap 510 devices(not enough punch though). We love dripping so a device that can withstand the drip addiction would be great.

I need a device that:
1) Feels like the T-rex weight wise.
2) Has a sleek design like T-Rex.
3)Offers the vapor production, battery charge lasting, and draw power of T-rex without all the design issues & would be replacement costs every 1-3 months.

Any help from others as I need to place an order asap and everything Ive read is beginning to cloud my judgment on what to choose. TY:confused:

Just get Joye Ego, or for a real 3.7v model get the Riva 510 kits from Liberty-Flights.com (because they have the correct manufacturer and latest version kits which are 3.7v). Press the 20% off upper left front page before shopping so you will be looking at the lowered prices. Under $30 for a Riva Lite Bundle of 2 complete Rivas, a bit more for the carto kit w/ case (if they are not out of cartos) or for the Riva SE.

Only thing to be careful of is never screw anything in or on further than necessary to make contact. Screwing things on too fat (attys. cartos, chargers) can depress the center post of the big batteries and attempting to lift it can go wrong easily.

Alternately - I don't quite trust the quality as much and they are pricey but Gotvapes has a new Ego clone 3-stage (search for 3-stage) which looks similar to T-Rex in that it has a ring of light (color indicates current voltage) and it also has a patch of light bars showing the approx charge left. 5-clicks to go between 3.2v, 3.7v and 4.2v. I own one battery and the quality seems OK. I mostly just use it on 3.7v. I have no need for 3.2v and the 4.2v doesn't seem that much different to me.

I have had the joye ego xl for 9months no issues, my brother in law has been through two full t-rex kits in 4 months and has quit e cigs all together and went back to analogs. My Ego xl kit came with two 900mah batts and I bought One extra batt it has lasted a while, The t-rex and ego are the same style just no blue ring, I enjoy my ego and have bought a mod and went back to my ego it is simple and is aways reliable. the only bad thing that has happened it my bro in law got a hold of my ego and lost it in the river.. Best of luck

And for emergencies you could always keep a little plastic 3.7v mod box around and some charged 14500 batteries which are usually what those use. The startup cost includes getting a charger (maybe $15) and the $5 industrial batteries (uses one at a time) but the simple 3.7v box mods ECF members make are usually under $20 apiece. Krimson Customs in Buying & Selling...Accessories and Mods lets you choose the box, button and LED color. And I got a couple from Silent Soldier. One of mine is clear blue w/ blue LED - very cute.

They have a Chuck and a GLV, I don't think they really need a box mod.

Another option in the Ego/Riva line is the E-Power. Since you already have several mods, you know the advantages of non-proprietary batteries which is what the E-Power uses and is the same general size as the Ego/T-Rex:

On no I wish I would have read this yesterday. I order 2 t-rex kits one 650 carto and one 900 with attys. I hope I have better luck

from what i know they aren't bad. just that some have bad luck and should contact the vendor about the problem. most vendors will try to help out and will be able to report these instances to manufacturer to keep quality control up. JMO
