Need Advice...Which Color As A Backup For The Hubby

Hubby wants another one so that he has one in his semi. Which one? He's torn between black and chrome. What do you have and would you have choosen the other color? Any pro's or con's with either of these? Scratching? Polishing? Anything to help him make his choice. He's loving it that he hasn't chewed since the day it came. Thanks in advance.

PS - How does the textured black feel and has anyone had any problems with the powder coating on it chipping or scratching? I think he has his eye on this one but he likes shiney also. I am hoping to surprise him with another one when he gets back home. He leaves in 2 days for a 3 week run (thank Heaven's it's the only big run this year so far).

I have the original powder coated silver and have never had a problem. Bought it from a friend too. It's my most used mod but looks as pretty as the others that sit in my drawer. Actually it's the second best (condition wise)-- my best never gets used

No idea about coatings, but I've done ride along on an 18 wheeler. I would suggest silver, simply because if the truck hits a good bump and the unit goes flying off the dog house, it would be easier to find on the floor.

i have the chrome and love it! but for being in a big truck like that id use the normal silver one but if he has one of those already get the chrome you will not regret it!

Chrome was what I was thinking...easier to find in the dark and in that big truck. However, I made him a sturdy PV holder for his door so it's always in reach and shouldn't go sailing. He keeps eyeballing the black but his main concern is scratching it.

I have the original bead blasted stainless on love it. If I were to ever buy another for a backup it would either be another stainless or the maybe the new Black finished ones. Chrome IMHO is a PITA if you want to keep it nice looking. I had a Chrome silver bullet and it drove me crazy wiping it down all the time.

The easiest solution it to buy both the Chrome and Black for him! I know I'd love ya forever if you bought both of them for me!

the chrome dose get finger prints but not horrible i wipe it down once a day at most

I'd pick the black again in a heartbeat. The finish doesn't show fingerprints at all and feels tough.

Thanks folks....I'm ordering the black. Now the wait...again. I hope it gets here before he comes back but doubt it. He's always ahead of schedule unless weather ties him up. The truck never stops unless it's for food or a potty break.

I stuck a spare kit in his overhead just incase something happens plus a couple extra batteries. I can't travel 1,000 miles in an hour. I keep waiting on a phone call that he's low on juice or something of that nature. Never fails, leave it to a man to pack and not take enough stuff. he was only going to take 40ml of juice with him....he vapes like me...4-5ml a day. He wouldn't make it on 40ml for 3 weeks...he vapes more when he's driving. I stuck 4 more 30ml bottles in the kit for him. His buddy is going with him...has been trying ecigs...so I threw in some sample sizes for him. I hope he's finally converted (Joe won't let him smoke in the truck). I'm curious to see if he wants to know more about the ProVari when they come back. I'm sure he'll want one. Damn nice unit.

His run takes him from Kansas to California, up to Canada and across dropping clear down to Florida then back this way. I did it once with him....21 years of marriage and I'll be the first to tell you that that semi isn't big enough for the both of us.

We second that, leannebug! We'd totally buy a pink ProVari - though ProVape team, if you do do this, please take care to pick a medium pink (like the lettering in leannebug's siggy pic, that's a perfect shade). Too often, we've seen 'pink' products elsewhere that don't look pink at all, but more like a fuschia/magenta-something (blagh).

That said, our ProVari is the original silver & we love it!

That'd be our recommendation, hairball...though it sounds like he already has one of these. In which case, our second choice would be the black. No offense to anyone else, but the chrome didn't appeal to us. We'd want a pink ProVari to also be like the silver (i.e. not a fingerprint collector).
