Hi and Welcome to ECF :)

Pretty much anything out there will treat you better as far as performance and cost effectiveness. You can get a non disposable ego style battery for under 20 bucks and e liquids to refill the tank that comes with ego starter kit, in any flavor you can imagine (and some you may not want to! lol) for a few bucks a pop.

Your post reminds me of my mom. She was smoking forever, and hated the idea of being "trendy" and using an ecig. I let her puff my eGo-T with an iClear 16 a few times to try it, with a menthol-strawberry blend, and I could tell she was interested although she wouldn't admit to it. She hated the idea of flavors, but loved the cool menthol taste since she's only smoked Kools as long as I've been alive. After ~8 months I purchased my APV, and I bought a clean, new head for one of my iC 16's, loaded it up with straight Liqua-brand menthol in 18 mg nic, and set it on her desk.

After a few weeks, she's converted. She hasn't touched a smoke in almost a month, and I upgraded her to a pink Vision Spinner with matching pink iClear and a few bottles of this stuff:
Liqua Menthol e-Liquid 10ml

She loves it, and is now open to the idea of trying different flavors.

Hi, Throat, welcome to ECF!

MA has been a very slow starter for e-cigarette stores, but there are some. I'd highly recommend you checkout a real store.

If you can check out a store with the initials V D in Newton, I think you'll find it to be worth the trip. (I'm not sure if they're a registered supplier so I won't give their whole name, but you can google "e-cigarettes Newton Ma" and you will find them.

Perhaps things have changed in the last 4 months or so, but back then there was really nothing in a B&M around here....

Hello and welcome to ECF :)

There are a ton of option's available to you that are much better than a Blu and less costly in the long run.
Here is a super simple ego set up and if you like menthol try the Ice line of juice :)
    eGo-O CE4 System - 1000 mAh at Vape Dudes

Good luck with your journey however you choose to go!

Welcome! The actual juice you choose to vape is certainly at your taste's discretion. There are MANY different types of juice. However, with your blu ecig, you might consider finding empty cartridges that you can fill on your own.

You can get into the e-liquid section and see all the different vendors and flavors of juices that could be out there. I personally was a menthol smoker, but I really don't bother with any kind of tobacco-flavored juices (I do have a couple, but they're on the very bottom of my preference list). I enjoy desserts, coffees, and fruits as my different choices.

Someone wiser than I can confirm the threading on the blus, but I was thinking they're 510 threaded. You should be able to locate refillable cartomizers (which can bring down the overall cost of vaping.) I've seen a few threads that there might be some local vape shops in your area. If you can walk into an actual B&M (Brick & Mortar storefront), they might have a "tasting" bar where you can try all different kinds of things to see if there's something else you might enjoy along with the menthol flavor.

I could ramble on about upgraded hardware, but it might suit you to find flavor(s) that you like and refillable cartridges. If you think you've outgrown the usefulness of the blus, you can certainly come back here and see all the different kinds of "toys" that folks have. (I started with something similar to a blu, and have since upgraded all kinds of things - I completely quit smoking real cigarettes 7 weeks ago, and I enjoy all the different nuances of different flavors and such. My current mods (batteries) have longer lives - don't need recharged as often, and the tanks (things I fill with juice) don't have to be refilled quite as often as my older cartridges did. So for me, this is less of a hassle to continue doing.)

Good luck, and happy vaping :vapor:

Just wanted to also let you know you can refill your blue cartridges. Not the single disposable e-cig but if you have the starter kit where you unscrew the battery from the carto you can just pop the end out and remove the little silicone doughnut and fill em up. I fill up my coworkers 10 cartos once a week so I use about fifty cents worth of eliquid and save him over $30 which is what 2 five packs of new cartos cost.

I have never used a Blu, but they look similar to what I used at the start a long time ago. While I am a relatively new "dedicated" vaper, I tried to use e-cigs as a way to quit smoking a good while back. My first purchase was the original, tiny Volcano e-cig kit, and it lead to nothing but frustration for me. With the automatic battery and the cotton-packed carts, and the tiny size (about the size of an actual king-size cigarette) I couldn't get a hit worth a hoot. I went up to the Magma kit next (510 size?) and it was only a little better. Which is to say, my frustration level was still too high for me to use it to replace cigarettes. I quit trying for a while, but about 6 months ago, a store opened locally, and I was able to try my first mid-size: a Tabac BCC connected to a 650 mAh Evod manual battery. The difference was earth-shattering for me, and within two weeks I was smoke-free! Since then, I have refined things a bit, but I can't emphasize enough the difference in the "little" cig-size and the mid-size vaporizers!

Find a local Vape shop and let them give you the grand tour. See if anyone has a particular favorite in the Boston area so you'll know your not going to get taken or sold something you don't necessarily want. I bet someone from Boston is on here...

Anyway, welcome to the ECF. Glad to have you!
