Hello,I was looking to get a new(bigger) battery for my 510.I hear alot about the riva and the ego and some other ones that are bigger. What do you guys think?
Thanks

About a month ago I got my first PV, a Joye 510. Just like you, I was unhappy with the battery.

I've since upgraded to a Hello Ego. The battery is rated 650mha, and when dripping it vapes like a crack ..... on new years eve :)

The starterkit came with 2 batteries and the most they need to be charged is once a day. The charge quickly in around 2 hours.

Some points to consider:

  • If you're getting an Ego / Riva / Tornado StarterKit, make sure you get a kit where the cone does not restrict air flow. A Hello Ego cone is known to restrict air flow, and because of this cannot really be used for daily vaping. You can remove the cone, but it doesn't look the same.
  • If you're not getting the starter kit, just batteries you might be wondering what the talk is about adapters. Here is the thing : The Ego / Riva / Tornado batteries fit 510 cartomizers and atties just fine. No adapter needed. However the 650mha battery or greater won't charge using a 510 charger. You will need to buy a charger that is capable of charging these higher rated batteries.
  • Consider getting a passthrough if you vape a lot around a pc. I had one and it produced a decent amount of vapor. Certainly would save you on batteries. I would have to say that my Hello Ego battery is more reliable than the PT. If you can find a very good PT though, its a good item to have incase of battery failure.

Hellos do not use cones. There is a cone shaped atty, I haven't heard of them restricting airflow though. Beyond that I say go for it on the eGo et al.

Get the Riva or Ego if you want a sleek look, not alot of difference in those two besides people seem to prefer the button on the Riva better and it's got a slightly higher MAh battery 750 for the Riva vs 650 for the Ego. The Ego also does offer a higher MAh battery now but it's only available in the higher priced kits or you can purchase it separate. I've heard Riva is coming out with a higher MAh battery also but don't have any details on it.

If you're looking for battery life get the Hello. It's got a 1300MAh battery. It's cone and atomizer are once piece though so if you want the sleek look with it you'll have to stick with the standard Atomizer which is more expensive and most seem to not prefer it. All 3 are compatible with the 510 so you can use a 510 atomizer with the Hello and not use the cone and still have the benefit of the larger battery.

Price wise the Hello can usually be found the cheapest and the Ego is usually a few bucks more than the Riva.

I've had the Riva for over a week now and love it. I've only charged it twice and not sure I needed to then it wasn't dead I just didn't want it to run out the next day. I'm not a chain vapor though. Most say they get 6-8 hours or more on a charge with the Riva and Ego with moderate to heavy use.

Go for it.
After using the manual 510 batteries, I got a 650mah battery and it is the bomb. Charged my battery the first day, vaped on the way to work, worked/vaped on a 12.5 hour shift, vaped on the drive home, all ont he same charge, batt never died.
I'm loving it.
Wow! where do you get those?

i have to say for 1 person 2 eGo or Riva batteries will last you all day...and with the 3 hour charger that comes with an eGo starter kit (riva's is like 2? i think.) ur dead batt's will be charged way before you're done vaping the other.. riva is cheaper if you look around from what i've seen - both take 510 atty's. I don't know about any other models really other than i think the 510 battery i ordered was defective cuz it died wayyy too fast. for me though i spend a lot of time on the computer and have after the first week of vaping ordered a 510 usb passthru - I prefer the eGo for a bridgeless atty for dripping so far but save a lot of battery power puffing on the one connected to my pc. If i had found the riva before Joye I might have went for it for the lower prices i've seen but..I have no complaints about my eGo kit.

The bigger the battery the longer it lasts.

So you have to figure out how long it NEEDS to last.
And you have to figure out how big you can stand for it to be.

You choices, in order of size, are...

-Standard 510 batteries (180mAh)
-Mega 510 batteries (280mAh)
-Ego/Riva/Tornado batteries (650mAh)
-Mega Ego/Riva/Tornado batteries (900mAh)
-Hello 016 batteries (1300mAh)

And then there are the mods, which use all different kinds of generic batteries.
