Need / desire for a Canadian PiF board?

Hey all. Just wondering what interest there is in trying to get a pay-it-forward sub-forum going here. Even if it's just moving some juices around. I know some PiF is already happening - lelly hooked me up with an old kit she had that she thought I could use. I know I have some juices I could move out easily (unwanted flavors).

Anyone else interested?

Wow - I was at work today thinking the exact same thing ... I know I'm interested.

I have a bunch of samplers and a couple 10 ml bottles of juice that I didn't really take to. No hardware though ...( i'm too much of a noob)

That's too bad. I guess it could go in the classifieds as [FREE] but then people could take advantage if nobody paid attention.

I remember seeing one when I first joined but there didn't seem to be much activity on it....the current PIF board doesn't work for us because of the 'rules'.

I was actually just looking through my stuff the other day and thinking about thinning out my herd of supplies a bit. I'd love to see a Canadian PIF board - although I think the rules should be a bit different in that PIF recipients should be able to pay for the shipping of their 'gift'...our Canadian shipping cost is quite high (as we all know) compared to our US neighbours.

What if it was more of a virtual "juice Bank" ( sort of like a blood bank ...er... ok that isn't exactly the best mental picture...food bank...ya that's better.) Where its a "donation" that people can then select from.
There would have to be a few basic rules but being as we are all polite Canadians we should have no real issues?

if i recall... it didn't run the way a PIF should and the organizer got annoyed and shut it down... it happened early in my ECF life... probably close to january/february timeframe...

That would be WONDERFUL! The other idea I have seen (on another board) was a travelling mystery box, where when the box got to you you took something and gave something. I would have been on board for that, but the pesky border keeps gtting in the way....

The last PIF item was taken by a new and he only returned once to say he was really busy but whould be checking in and he never returned.

i'm in for a mystery box...

as long as we keep it at a fair value... replace what you take with at least equal value... though, if someone had put a phidias in there, i don't think i'd have enough with all my current devices and juices to replace that value... sucks for the next guy... LOL

There should be a minimum number of posts or months of membership required in order to participate in the PIF to reduce the chances of that happening?

yeah... at least 2 months on the boards and at least 50 posts? that sound fair?

How about one month and 44 ?

What if it was sampler size bottles ... 3 or 5ml bottles of whatever....that way keeping equal value is at least easy.
and If i have to wait a month and another 6 posts i think i could do that.

I'd be happy to start a little box but how to decide it's first destination?

I was looking through the PIF section and thinking what a shame it is that there was nothing for Canadians. I would certainly be interested in participating.

I would be into doing the mystery box too. 2 months and 50-100 posts sounds good enough. It's probably going to take a week or more in shipping between members a lot of the time, so that gives the users who aren't quite at 2 months and 50-100 posts plenty of time to get there and join the lineup when they do.

Question is, who is going to start the box? I certainly have some good stuff to add, but I don't think I have enough extra gear to start a mystery box.
