Okay, so im new to DIY and also a very compulsive buyer (two things which probably shouldnt go hand in hand) and during buying supplies I came across an ebay seller offering 70/30 Premix, and thought fab! Thats exactly what i want, my juice to be 70/30 and so bought it instantly! Silly me, i forgot to account for the nicotine and flavorings in the VG content. The flavourings are all CAP or TFA (im assuming VG Based) and my nictonine is Vg based 72mg. I was wondering if anyone knows what the VG % will be if I plan to have 20% flavouring at 3mg nicotine? thanks!

Also, i have tried using calculators, and cannot type in the pg/vg I have, instead only my desired PG/VG, so am still unable to find how i can use this premix and don't want it going to waste!

The flavourings are all CAP or TFA (im assuming VG Based)

The vast majority of flavorings are PG based, Capella and TFA included.

I plan to have 20% flavouring

20% is a lot of flavoring. You'll likely discover that less flavoring results in more flavor.

Assuming you bought 30PG/70VG, and since your nicotine is VG based, the final product will be quite close to 30PG/70VG.

Also, in the future, buy your ingredients from a reputable supplier. Who knows what kind of conditions your PG and VG were mixed in.

You can use your pre-mix and still hit your marks essentially using the premix as your PG. You will need to purchase some a pure vg and plug all the numbers in to your calculator. There are places to put in different ratio bases in most calculators. If yours doesn't have them then get a different calculator, there are many out there.

It will take a while to use up the pre-mix and quite a bit of the straight VG but you can use it up and still hit your marks as long as you stay <29% flavoring.

Depending on the flavoring and your taste, many, many people mix at 20% or even higher so don't let previous comments throw you. It all depends on your flavorings, mixing style and personal taste. And yes, easier to buy them separately next time.

Assuming that your unflavored VG / PG premix is 70% VG / 30% PG ....

And your Nicotine is VG Base @ 72mg Nic

And you are using 20% PG based flavoring, here is what your going to get if you are looking to make 50 ml of juice that is 3.6mg Nic:

37.5 ml . .= . . 75% . . . . VG and PG Premix Base (70% VG / 30% PG)
. 2.5 ml . .= . . . 5% . . . . VG Based Nicotine - 72mg per ml
10.0 ml . .=.... 20% . .. . .PG Based Flavoring
_______________________________

Finished Product will be: . . 57% VG / 43% PG - 3.6mg Nic

Joe, you could add just USP glycerin to the mix, but then you would have to decrease the PG flavoring by the same amount (using only 10% PG flavoring, but adding 10% Glycerin would make your finished juice 67% VG and 33% PG.

The real problem is that you are using a pre-made base that's already stuck at 70% VG / 30% PG

Give this one a try ...

37.5 ml . .= . . 75% . . . . VG and PG Premix Base (70% VG / 30% PG)
. 2.5 ml . .= . . . 5% . . . . VG Based Nicotine - 72mg per ml
..5.0 ml . .=.... 10% . .. . .PG Based Flavoring
..5.0 ml.. .= . ..10% . . . . USP Glycerin

Finished Product will be: . . 67% VG / 33% PG - 3.6mg Nic

Would there be a way in which i could make 70/30 at 3mg, or is that not possible? i find any higher than 3 and the nicotine causes me some throat problems. I would also like the higher vg, as once again much lower higher than 30PG causes me a lot of irritation, and also gives me very bad skin! Thank you very much for your help tho! still have no idea how you figured that out hahah! education system has failed me :p

Not without adding straight VG as I explained above. You can still hit your numbers it will just take a while to use up the mix. You need to watch a u-tube or read a tutorial on how to use a calculator and you can run different numbers to see how this all works. Your education has not failed you, you just need to continue it ;)
