Hi friends. Over the past couple years I have bought a lot of e-cigs. Here's the list:

Started with a mini 901
Moved to the Screwdriver
Got a roughstack
Bought the lavatube
purchased a box mod

The mini didn't cut it, the screwdriver was good but I wanted something different, the roughstack was too fidgety and I wanted to try higher voltage, the lavatube broke, the box mod broke.

I need help finding a 5 volt device that is very sturdy and reliable. I would like something with a mechanical switch if possible. 510 threading of course is a must. Small enough for pocket carry too. Please help, thanks!

Even better than your typical mechanical mod would be a VmodXL which has the best, leak-free feeder system. Slap a 4.8v battery in it and vape away! Accepts all 510 atties/cartos and is very pocket, hand, table friendly (doesn't roll). There's a vid of one being driven over by a truck. Not to say it can't be broken, but mine's been through more than one "accident". Is bath friendly, as well.

Vapage.com "MOTHER" for 20%off! :toast:

Vmod XL is the best bottom feeder in the bang for your buck category of bottom feeders... it just works darn well.
Dougie was referring to the 4.8 volt battery that fits if you don't want to go with the standard 3.7 18650 battery.
You shouldn't be deprived with that, since there are resistances to choose from for your atomizers.

that's very astute of you... they do have a 6 month warranty, but yeah, it's not a Reo metal b/f in terms of a solid, mechanical device. But then you got to pay to play.
I'd be interested to see what you came up with.
I can see the value of the vmod for some people but a plastic mod with an aluminum casing is just not what i need right now. I feel like i've wasted a lot of money on garbage and want something that is very solid and will last a long time. Not saying it's junk, I just don't want to risk it.

There aren't a whole lot of fixed 5v mods to choose from really. Lots of folks are using their 18650 mods with the 4.8v batts, or there's the Saber Touch and the GLV....Kalamazoo stopped making the 5v Tripple V, I dont think Aceofvapes is making the GoldDigger anymore either. You've got the Saber, the GLV, the newer metal Lava Tubes, the Provari, Buzz...3 of those are VV mods and one of them I wouldn't trust to put out the correct voltage under load (Lava). You could look at Vaprlife and see if any of those would suit your needs. Check out some youtube reviews on these devices, see what works for you.

There's a pretty significant weight difference between the two. If you want to carry it around in your pocket...GLV is lighter. If the weight wouldn't bother you, the VV of the ProVari and all the other features it offers is definitely a great thing to have for an extra $40.
