We've been vaping for the past 5 or so weeks. I've been analog free pretty much since the gitgo. My husband (old 2 pk/day analogs) is still needing 4-5 cigs a day. We've been using 18mg juice and I just ordered 24mg to see if that's the problem. He's going through 1-1.5 carts a day right now. I'm thrilled that he's only smoking a fraction of what he did prior to vaping. He's bothered because he just can't seem to kick them completely. Suggestions on anything else he could try?

I have been vaping for almost a year now. I have just quit smoking. I dwindled from 1 1/2 packs a day to 2 or three a day. Now that it is freezing cold, I decided to quit. He will get there. Don't rush it. Are you talking about cartomizers or cartridges? 1 1/2 cartridges a day is nothing. Good gosh, I would be going crazy. You could up the nic, I started at 36mg. I am now down to 18mg.
What helped me a lot when I had really strong cravings was sitting down with my pass through for a few minutes. It was warmer and produced so much more vapor. They did not have the lr versions of everything at that time.

Bump in nic can be huge. I was PAD and change smoker, 16 - 18 let me cut way down but couldn't get me past trigger points.

24 is a good idea. I'll even use 30 from time to time -- my body is pretty self-regulating on nic, I'll automatically vape less on 30 than 24 or 18.

I probably run about 5 ml a day, vape a lot of low mg on a pass through at work, flavors I like.

I've been cig free over 5 months, don't sweat that I still like my 24 and 30.

If you're using prefilled cartos by chance, it's good to learn to refill -- trivial to do, also lets you vary strength easily. I use tiny Walmart ziplock bags, 3"x4", each with a 6ml of juice and a carto, flip to whatever juice/mg I want at any given time.

Good luck, and good job on your husband cutting way back!

I agree w/ Resist. Don't rush it too much. For some people the transition to vaping is immediate. For others, it takes a bit longer. It took me over two months to finally allow myself a full 24 hrs without smoking. The more I pushed myself to quit the harder it seemed to be. 4-5 cigs/day is incredible compared to 2 packs. It sounds like he's doing great.

Just try to find what is comfortable for each particular day. I think once he finds the right nic level and the figures out how often to be vaping for his needs it will get easier. Five weeks really isn't that long. Good luck.

@ resist - encouraging, I'll let him know your story. And sorry, should have specified cartomizers. I may have to add some 30mg to the order along with the 24mg. Good idea.
@ markfm - yea, thought we'd be fine with just the prefills, but we recently discovered the joys of juice! Having various mg choices with him may turn the tide.
