...find your flavors and make sure your nic strength is sufficient (this one will drive you nuts, because there's a ton of good ones out there :p ). Don't worry about the nic being high at first. You can taper it down later, when you get used to this slower delivery system.

+1,000,000 THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PIECE OF ADVICE YOU WILL GET!! Cindy is dead-on! If you find the right nic level and a flavor or two that you like you will never look back! The cravings will be almost non-existent and you will ENJOY it. This is in fact a way less efficient nic delivery method as there is no tar clinging to your lungs that then leeches the nic in and no solvents that burn tissue open in your lungs to really draw it in. I started too low and almost failed...once I got a couple different higher strengths it was almost stupid easy! If I was jones'ing I'd grab a higher nic cart for a couple hits and was solid. Also noticed I vaped less nic overall once I moved up in nic, believe it or not, as I wasnt craving and therefore chain vaping.

Whatever you do, dont give up! I promise you, if you find a couple liquids you like and a nic strength that 'does the trick' (or a couple strengths for general vaping and crave moments) from a decent PV you will absolutely kick analogs! And if you struggle, ask, ask, ask! Weve all been there and most everyone here is SO willing to help!

Welcome, congrats and good luck!

I was lucky I guess as my e-cig kit was delivered just as I ran out of smokes. I charged the batteries and off I went. I did buy the strongest cartridges they had as I knew I'd need the nicotine and I had read that vaping is less efficient than smoking for nicotine delivery. I'm 2 weeks smoke free today and I feel much better. My eGo is working perfectly for me and I've been experimenting with flavors. One quick tip - you do not need tobacco flavoring of any kind to be happy - right now I'm using a sweetish cherry blend that I really like...

Well, welcome to ECF! This is where you not only get help with e-cigs... YOU GET A SUPPORT GROUP!

A couple of things (some are redundant I guess):
1) there is a withdrawal from tobacco (alkaloids?) even while vaping. Lasted 2-3 weeks for me.
2) If you find that you absolutely cannot do without the alkaloids, research WTA here on ECF.
3) Hardware makes a difference too. So does nic level. The nic and the vaping action together help quell the cravings.
4) Don't kick yourself. Make sure to encourage yourself, and get the mechanics worked out.

I love the stories from people that smoke and vape for a while. They eventually get to a point where they forget to buy cigs, forget to smoke! lol. But it can take a while. There is no single 100% correct way... it varies by person.

I know I made dang sure that this whole "e-cig stuff" worked well before I finished off the last of the cigs. Some people freeze some cigs in the freezer for "security".

It took 5 volt box mods (APVs) for me to stay quit. The small 3.x volt stuff was not doing it for me. Maybe LR atties would have helped me more, but the point is that there is a learning curve and a bit of a "futz factor" with them. So give yourself enough time and chance to succeed. You'll get the experience you need. Discouragement and despair are your enemies now (along with withdrawal). Time, experience and patience are a good way to fight them!

Good Luck!
