Hello everyone,

I have decided to start using e-cigarettes to try to quit smoking. I have been browsing the forum for half an hour and I am completely lost! I was trying to look up the information by reading other folk's posts so as not to annoy... but I'm not finding what I'm looking for. This site is massive! Can someone point me to some threads that might help me answer the following questions:

1. What are some of the best vaporizers to start with that cost the same or less than what I buy now (I spend $5-7/pack, I smoke over a pack a day)?
2. What online stores should I look at to buy a vaporizer?
3. How do I use them? (Or will this come with the vaporizer??)

I guess that's all for now.

Thanks so much!

Front page of this forum is a page called the INFOZONE- start there:
ECF InfoZone - The is the E-cigarette Forum Information Zone, for all your ecig needs
Top page of this forum page is a SUPPLIER'S THREAD. Go to a supplier, order a STARTER KIT.
Should be able to get started for about $50 or so.
A gas station/pharmacy kit can get you started fine, but a Good kit here will be more cost-effective.

Feel quite free to ask ANY question here. While waiting for your first order, read as much as you can here.

The best thing I can recommend ( and this is how I got started ) is buy yourself an eGo C or eGo T kit... the T allows you to adjust the voltage... I got mine from The Vapor Store in Fl... had it in 2 days ( no complaints with them at all ). While you are using the eGo to get started do more research and figure out exactly what it is you want. I now have the eGo C, T, a Zmax and a VAMO and love them all... they all do different things well.

The started kit can be had for under a $100 bucks and comes with everything you need... The battery (2), charger, attys, and tanks... all you will need is some juice.

This is just how I did it, to each his own.

I started my epic journey with the small cigarette looking pvs tried three different ones just didn't satisfy me tho I still have one of them it performed the best out of the three. I did a little more searching I.was looking for a local store to go to instead of online ordering and I was surprised to find one not far from my house. I got a 900mah ego battery clearomizer kit with 24mg juice I too smoked over a pack a day for 30+ yrs. And I haven't smoked tobacco since that day. Thete ate many vendors some good ones are DiscountVaperys, MadVapes,AquaVaporCigs are among some of the many but these vendors have great prices and awesome customer service. So I recommend an ego clearomizer kit to start with and go from there.

What got me to stop smoking was a Volt X2 900mah battery with a X2 T3 Clearmizer and 555 E-Juice all from smokeless image. no that is not a plug for them, and no i am not saying that this will be perfect for you, it is just what worked for me and for my wife both of us smoked for over 20 years and both were at or over a pack a day.

Good luck and Welcome to the world of Vaping.

Your cigarette budget looks to be over $200 per month, so let's use that as a base and use it for your capital costs.

For newbies (what I've used and given out) I recommend two eGo-C Twists because I think that variable voltage is important. If you move on to something later, they are great backup devices. You'll also need a charger.

For something to deliver the juice to the battery I'd recommend one or two Mini Vivi Novas and/or some prepunched cartomizers and a cartomizer tank.

You can search YouTube for videos for these devices and the ways to use them. Don't forget some eJuice.

    Lastly, good luck!

Your best bet for affordable performance and value is the eGo-C Twist battery with an atomizer and drip tip, a pack of 5 cartomizers, a ViVi Nova, and a bottle of e-liquid. The atomizer will allow you to drip for the best flavor, the cartomizer will show you how easy it can be to vape on the go without constantly having to drip directly on your atomizer, and the ViVi Nova will give you a chance to try out tanks (though it's not the definitive answer in that category). It's reasonably affordable to try them all out and see which method of vaping you prefer before moving on to mildly more expensive/complex hardware.

Prices are as follows, but you may have to shop around online:

    (1) eGo-C Twist ~ $20
    (1) eGo Wall Charger ~ $5
    (1) 510 Atomizer ~ $10
    (5) Cartomizers ~ ~ $8
    (1) ViVi Nova ~ $11
    (1) 30ml bottle of e-liquid ~ $16

Altogether with shipping (if purchased from the same site), you could spend less than $80 for a handy arsenal to dive right into vaping. You could spend even less to get started with a 510 kit if you're budget is tight, but the liquid alone will last you about as long as $80 in cartons of cigarettes, and after that you'll only be paying ~$16 at a time since you've already got the hardware (not including replacement cost of ViVi Nova heads, cartomizers, or atomizer depending on which you decide you prefer - all of them still reasonably priced for their lifespans).

And keep reading the forums to learn more. The community is here for advice and information.

This is the best deal on an eGo clearomizers kit I have seen. I bought it for backups. Should be here tommorow. Code NEWB gives 5% off
    eGo 1100mah CE4 Kit

Pretty hard to beat that deal. I would look around at some juice vendors and get a sample pack or 2 to go with it. I didnt even try tobacco flavors. I went straight to drinks/food flavors I know I like to eat/drink.

Then watch for some sales and get a back up battery, and you will probably want to upgrade the Ce4s after a bit. Depends what your needs are.

I started with a Volcano Inferno myself, and have been happy with it. As I've learned more I plan to add to my collection an eGo Twist and some clearomizers like the Kanger T3. Both have gotten very good reviews. The nice thing here is, even in your learning stages, you will be spending less on gear and liquid to vape than you did analogs (at least that's been the case for me)!

    Hello again!

Thank you for all who replied. Here's what has happened since I wrote...

I found out a friend switched from cigarettes to vaping and followed his advice directly (sadly, without even checking the forums to see what responses I got- sorry, I really suck). I ended up buying this eGo kit: eGo 510 CE4 e-cigarette kit with two batteries, an eGo e-cigarette carrying case, FOUR CE4 e-liquid vaporizers and a corded USB charging cable from Caterpillar Vapes. The same kit my friend bought (I got the deal they are running, $44.99 instead of $69.99 for:

    4 CE4 2ml Tanks
    4 510 compatible drop tips
    1 900 mAh Battery
    1 650 mAh Battery
    1 Zippered Case
    1 USB charger with cord

Was this a pretty good deal?

Anyway... I also bought 3 bottles of Dromedary Menthol Hangsen and 2 bottles of Mango Hangsen eliquids, 16 mg. I vaped and smoked for two days. Though I enjoyed vaping, I went back to only smoking.

A few months passed. I decided to try quitting cold turkey the day after my birthday (3/20/13) and day two of a week-long vacation at home. I thought I would allow myself either nicotine gum or the ecigarette if I really got desperate.

I woke up the morning I was supposed to quit. I remembered I was going to quit smoking and allowed myself to snooze some more. I woke up again, remembered I was going to quit and snoozed even more. I woke up a third time and decided I would go ahead and use the ecigarette. I have been using it for two full days plus however many hours today and I have a feeling I won't be turning back! I truly love it! I've been browsing the forum a lot and have picked out some more liquids to buy when I run low on what I already have.

Anyway, thanks again to all who replied. I feel very guilty for not looking back at the forums. :-(

An excellent little starter kit! Once you get to know how it all works and what you like, you will move on to other pv's and juice deliveries. I wouldn't worry too much about twists and stuff at this stage.

So long as your experience has been positive and you like how these batteries and clearo's work, that's all that matters.

And Well Done on successfully making the switch! ;)
