Hey everyone,

Today when my kgo battery finished charging I pulled the plug out of the wall and one of the pin things that fits in the socket came out of the charger and is hanging by a wire. I could try opening it up and fixing it but I hate messing around with these things because I heard so much about batteries getting ruined from faulty chargers. I'm kinda screwed here since that's the only kgo charger I have and just put in a new order for another one but it will take awhile to get here. I was wondering if I could use my volt charger instead for the time being? They both say the output is 5v and they look pretty identical. Or maybe there is one I could get from the store? I would appreciate any advice you guys can give me! Thanks.

Are you talking about the part that plugs directly into the wall, or the USB cord that screws onto the battery?

If it's the wall part, you can use anything that takes 110 and is made to charge a USB device since they are all pretty much 5 volts. The volt wall plug should work fine. An iPod wall adapter would also work. Check the amperage rating to be sure. I don't have a kGo.

If you are talking about the USB cord, the Volt uses 808 threads and won't work on a 510 kGo.

Look at what's printed on the USB part of your KGO charger (i.e., the part that the KGO screws into, not the wall adapter). Mine says 420mA. I'm no electrical expert, but I think that part will regulate the current that goes into your KGO down to 420mA. So, the bottom line is I think you could use the Volt wall adapter without issue.
