Need Help New to Vaping

today is my second day off cigarettes since i was 17, i am now 28, i was a pack and half newport 100 smoker the whole time and need some help. I got a evod vv starter kit with the protank 2 and it came with some halo sub zero ejuice 24mg and it helps but i still want that cigarette. is there any other juice that will crave this feeling. am i doing something wrong or is the normal

It actually took me about 2 months of vaping and smoking before I finally quit cigarettes completely. There is nothing wrong with having a cigarette now and again. Vaping to quit smoking is more about how many cigarettes you have NOT smoked, rather than the "not one more puff" mentality of going cold turkey. It's OK to wean yourself off slowly if you prefer.

The flavor that really made it easy for me to quit cigarettes for good was Virginia from Backwoods Brew, and after 2 years of vaping, it remains a staple in my juice arsenal. The best way to describe the flavor is that it tastes exactly the way a fresh pack of smokes smells. It's everything you love about the essence of tobacco without the combustion. I love this stuff. A similar juice that has notes of sweet nuttiness with a light background of smokiness would be Morley from Want2Vape. Morley

You've smoked for 11 years. It is perfectly normal to still crave cigs....especially if your on day 2 without. Even if there wasn't physically addictive additives in cigs, smoking has been a ritual you performed 20 plus times a day, things are gonna seem a little out of sorts for a handfull of days. Vaping gives you the nicotine, the warm inhale & exhale, and the visual effect(vapor cloud). Hang in there. It gets better. The cravings will subside. Your taste & smell will improve. Vaping will take place of smoking as your routine.

That's quite a good starter setup. Maybe you just need another one, so you can VAPE MORE.

Seriously though - I vaped a LOT while quitting cigs - mostly not because of a craving, but because I LIKED IT. And vaping that much probably is what KEPT me from having any real withdrawal or cravings... For me (not for everyone certainly), it was kind of easy - after a week or two of vaping and smoking, cigarettes just tasted nasty to me, and I stopped wanting any.

I wasn't a menthol smoker, so I don't really know....but could it be that you miss the nicotine AND the menthol? I think I've seen comments from people who smoked menthol cigarettes that they found a menthol type juice that worked for them.

Maybe someone will see this and comment.
 
Thanks for all your comments. i'm new to all of this the vaping and writing on forums, first for both. and for those who said its ok to smoke while vaping, i tryed one and it tastes like crap but i feel like im missing something. but i will try some of what spaceballsrules suggested. once again thanks for all your support

Welcome to the forum! I smoked newports for 15 years starting at the age of 15. I was going through atleast a carton a week close to the end. You've done well to start with 24mg juice. At some point you might want to try a small bottle of 36mg for trouble times like first thing in the morning or right after meals. Don't beat yourself up though. I had 3 packs left when I got my starter kit & it took me a few days to smoke those but the good thing was that I was cutting back. When you get the urge to smoke try vaping first. If that doesn't kill the urge go ahead & have that cig. We all had to quit at our own pace so don't be too hard on yourself. The good thing is that it sounds like you really want to make the switch so just stick with it & pretty soon you'll find yourself reaching for your ecig instead of you lighter & cigarette.

Also try some different flavors if you can. I very quickly grew to hate menthol:)

It's normal to still crave a cigarette at your stage. There are other substances in cigarette smoke besides nicotine you're addicted to. The good news is, that'll pass relatively quickly.

Most people don't quit immediately. Some are able to once they get a match of equipment and juice that suits them. Others slowly ween themselves off the old and replace it with the new.

Keep in mind that vaping doesn't transfer nicotine as quickly to your blood steam/brain as smoking does. So before you break down and light one up, try vaping for another 10-15 minutes. If the urge is still there, there's no shame in lighting up for now. But purposefully try to vape more often than you smoke, and increase that ratio little by little until you maybe only have one cigarette per day. Then maybe one cigarette on a Friday night. Then none.

Or...

realize that some psychological withdrawal is normal, and a little physical withdrawal from the non-nicotine substances. Fight through it. In 10 days or so, you'll be in the clear physically. Psychologically, you will still miss smoking a little bit. But that will fade more and more over time.

After a few weeks of only vaping, something really cool happens: Your sense of smell returns. Suddenly, you'll smell just how much cigarette smoke actually REEKS. It's all down hill from there. :D
