hey all - my 1st time on this forum posting - but i have used alot of these threads to help me make choices in the past. but now i have reached a point where i need to post b/c i need a little help, soo:

I have been vaping for about 2 months and i currently use a 650mAh eGo passthrough, with an eGo CC Clearomizer.

-I really like this set-up so far, i have been vaping better juices then @ the start. in the beggining i was vaping just bad quality juice from a local shop
but now i have been using the liqua brand and totally wicked, loving them soo much better, better hit more vapor.

Now the question: I want to upgrade my battery and get a VV setup BUT im not ready to drop alot of money yet. eventually i want to get a Vmax or a Buzz Pro
but for now i have chosen 2 diff batts and i would like to know which one would fit my needs better - i know there slightly similar but im a little new still and would
love a 2nd option.

1st option - KGO VV 650 - KGO batteries 1100mAh
(btw this above link will show as 1100 mAh in red but really its a 650^^)
2nd option - eGo VV 650 - Super Pass-Thru Variable Voltage eGo (v2)

i really like my current set-up but it leaves me craving more, i want to be able to use the VV to get more vapor/throat hit out of my set-up.

if some people could offer there option on what they would rather use or what they think would be better for what im looking for, and also if you could reccomend which carto/atos/clearo's or tanks i should be using w/ these set ups.

im just looking for the best set up in this price range for the time being to deliver good vap and a great throat hit / flavor

thank you all :)

I would recommend the twist as well. It is a good item to have as an intro in to VV. I have (2) 1000 mah Twists and though they are longer than the 650, each one lasts me 1 to 1.5 days. I have several 650's for backup but they last me only about 4-6 hours. Passthroughs are nice if you don't mind vaping with a cord while charging. All of the LEDs on those mods and at those prices look iffy to me, as if they could cause problems if dropped a few times. (not good when on the go). I have dropped my Twists numerous times and they have never dented and work just as good as they did when new. Just my opinion.

I disagree with the others. I'd get the KGO VV. It goes up to 6 volts, whereas the Twist only goes to 4.8. The KGO has the LCD screen so you can see the voltage you've set.

Also, the big thing is that you can use the KGO VV as a passthrough while its charging. So, it is possible to only have one KGO VV (although backups are always a requirement in my world). With the Twist, you have to have at least 2 unless you have another backup PV to use while the Twist is charging.

I've got the standard fixed voltage KGO and it's been a good unit. I doubt that SLB (maker of KGO) would release a crappy VV version.

The price of the VV KGO is very close to the Twist. At that price and with the advantages it has over the Twist, it seems like a no brainer to me.

Hi Pappy
Bullette the Kgo fan here.
I'll just add one more positive thing to your post:
Kgo uses Li-PO battery.
Ego uses Li-ion battery.
My understanding is that Li-PO batts are newer technology, more stable, longer lasting, and more expensive.
I have been quite happy with my 2 Kgo batts for about 6 months now.
Vape on.

The twists are nice. They do have notches that represent the voltage on it however only a 4.8 limit. I personally recommend a cheap VV diy kit to get you started. I dropped $70 on my first VV and I could have built the same one for $10. As soon as I have the link I will post.

thank you all for your info. as for the twists i do like them and i wanted to purchase one - but the only thing that led me to the ego LCD VV and the KGO VV LCD is that they both go up to 6v in .1 increments. i really like that feature - as i said before i crave a good throat hit and good vapor/flavor and i like the idea of the .1 and the 6v max to get a little more out of the batt.

i also hear what people are saying about the KGO VV w/ the lcd screen being a 1st gen - but i still will also have my standard 650mAh eGo passthro as a backup if/when needed.

can anyone add what would be the best atty's/cartos on these 2 batts? are anytype of punched carto tanks a viable option here? just looking for a good soild all around option or 2. aslo if theres anyone out there that has tried both of these batts (eGo VV and KGO VV that are listed on the original post) can you talk about which one you liked better and/or felt better built and whatnot

I agree, I use a chrome lava tube 2.0 and don't really ever vape above 4.2 v. I must however say that 4.2v on the lava tube is completely different from the same voltage on an ego vv battery. I don't think that the ego vv gives accurate voltage under load where the lava tube is much closer.

He could just go with one of either if he's willing to keep his old 650 non-variable in the wings for emergencies.

I have 2 Ego Twists. If I purchased a VV KGO, would it be compatible with the Ego charger?

thank you all for your help- maybe i might just go w/ an ego twist. my 650 ego passthru puts out 4.1 @ full charge for the first 2-3 hrs then drops off- so im rly just looking for something to sustain a solid throat hit all the way yo zero batt, dead. nothing i hate more then a pull on my current ego w/ no throat hit. so if yall think ill nvr rly need above a 4.2v maybe ill get a 900mah twist. im still new so for some reason maybe im relating a above 4.2+ voltage to better vape/throat hit.
