So not so long ago I decided to rebuild these heads after watching riptrippers video.
I will list some of the things I have found out.
1. Use cotton. After you finish your coil, take a strip of cotton twist it and "screw" it in the coil. It wicks much better.
1,5. Use some old ... ego adapter to screw in the coil. Have two pliers. One smaller and one bigger. Hold the ego adapter with smaller pliers. Rip the top cap with the bigger ones. Comes off easy. Strenght needed.
2. Use 20mm or 25mm kanthal. If u use 20 mm kanthal make 3/4, 4/5 very narrow coils on some narrow screwdriver. It will give out 1,5 and 2 Ohm. If you use 25mm kanthal use a more thicker screw driver and aim for atleast 4/5, I would say 5/6 and 6/7 tight is the best.
3. If you are rebuilding the the bdc coils, get rid of the thing that is in the red circle on the image.
Trust me its useless and it may give off burnt taste. Maybe I am wrong, but it worked for me, its gone in the new coils so yeah.
4. No need to try and copy the exact ways how these coils are designed, you can make a single simple horizontal coil in both of these houses. I have myself never seemed to fiddle out a good vertical coil.
5. You dont have to use the filler if you use a bit more cotton and spread it out of the housing holes. What I do, Is have them reaching out a little bit. Saturate them a bit. Take the top cap (do not close the coil), put it on the coil and spin it around. The cotton will be sticked to the sides of the housing in between the top cop and outside of the housing, while still covering the housing holes.
6. For best juicing of the coils. Take the top cap, do what I said stated in the last tip, and then stop it at the point where the holes align to the cotton holes by HALF. This is very important. You should see half cotton and half metal (or even bit more cotton and little of metal housing). Take pliers. Take the coil and screw it in some old ego adapter you have lying around, without moving the top cap. Spread your pliers. Put in between and squeeze till it clicks and is firmly there.
6,5. The top cap hole alignment works for me. And I realised this after once trying to build the coil, with the top cap holes facing the centers of the metal. It gurgled. This is probably why some of the factory mades gurgle. If it faces the cotton holes in the housing directly. It may draw tighter, and sometimes give burnt taste.
By doing it as I did, I get amazing flavor, and alots of vapor, with no gurgling and leaking.
Hope this helps to anyone who is trying to rebuild these coils.
It is super easy.
Do watch rip trippers video it helps alot to get some kind of visual knowledge.
Peace!
PS: I fancy the BVC houses much more over the bdc coil. If you make a horizontal coil in these heads there is more space for cotton. Also these heads have 4 holes in the top cap so they juice even better !
