I have been reading, and enjoying, the plethora of info on ECF. Really glad I found this forum, I'm sure I'd be totally lost without it.
I currently own a Blu and it's ok. That's a very unenthusiastic "ok". The batteries die quickly and I spend too much time ensuring I won't run out of battery (that translates instantly into buying a pack of analogs). I researched and came to the conclusion that I want to upgrade to a 510 eGo. I type that into google and god help me. Terms, jargon, letters that don't belong next to one another!

In short, can anyone recommend a good 3 piece eGo? I want battery length, and would prefer to fill my own cartridges. Soooooo many vendors!
Thank you in advance, I need expert advice here!

https://www.cignot.com/product_p/kit-ego-all.htm That fits your request.

Or if you want the C type instead https://www.cignot.com/product_p/kit-ebc-all.htm

BTW: Welcome to ECF.

And it's always nice to see another from Indiana on here. Don't miss the links in my sig. We have a meet-up we are attending next month in Greenfield and then one we're hosting in Carbon in Sept, and it looks like we might be meeting up down in E-ville in October. Bascially the Hoosier Vapers club tries to hold a meet each month and we try to move it around each time. It's free to join Hooiser Vapers too, but there is a bit less chatter compared to ECF...

I have started many people on this path. I send everybody to mistereliquid.com. buy the 59.99 kit. Just a basic 2 battery ego kit w/cartomizers. The 10% off code is vapetv. Also, while your there try the apple pie eliquid. It is what turned the analogs off for me. Give them a try and the best thing is if you have any questions call them, text, or email. They are super nice guys. Congrats

I just starting Vaping last week and have not had a cigarette since!

I was in the same boat as you, I was trying my best to sift through all this info and piece together what I could. I was lucky enough to have a shop locally and that made all the difference in the world. I highly suggest it if you can find anything close to where you live. I was able to see the eGo and different setups and from that point I haven't looked back.

I smoked at least a pack a day for the last 10 years and knew I wanted something that would last me throughout the day so I wouldn't have a chance to cheat. I ended up buying an eGo 1000 mAh Twist with a clearomizer (I got a kanger t2 but it's almost the same as a stardust or sunfire) this has turned out to be an awesome starter for me! After the first day I went back and got a backup standard 650 mAh eGo battery just so I had something to use while the other one was on charge.

The standard 650 mAh is also half the length of the 1000 mAh twist so it would be much better to take to the bar or out to dinner.

And other than that the only thing you absolutely need to start vaping is the juice. This is another benefit of having a local shop, you can try out flavors and see what you like. It may not be what you stick with but at least you'll know that you like the flavor enough to toss that pack of cigs in the trash.

I started at 18mg nicotine strength and as long as I vape I get ZERO cravings. And when I don't vape and the craving comes a few puffs on my eGo and it's gone.

There a ton of options out there but a great setup to start is the eGo battery + a clearomizer. I spent $25 on the big battery and $5 for a clearomizer and was ready to go. I really thought this was going to be complicated after going through all this information but it's really that easy to start and you can always get more into once your hooked on vaping.

Good luck!

i've been doing this over a year and use the hell out of my eGo batteries...i noticed in your post you said you wanted a 3 piece system...is there any reason for that?

A lot of people do still drip these days, but i can pretty confidently say that almost no one here uses an atomizer with cartridges, if you want to drip that is fine, if not, get cartomizers instead of cartridges

Check out a kgo 1100 starter kit too...sort of an ego clone( ? Someone will be along to set me straight if that terminology is incorrect, lol) got mine last week and have found amazing battery life and you can find gobs of different cartmizers, clearomizers, etc., to buy and try. Found mine at Dark City Vapor(super fast ship time) but Hoosier has them also(I'm partial to all things red and he didn't have the red one :D). Good luck!

The plot thickens!
Ok, so a three piece is not commonplace? From what I had read, I figured in order to fill your own cartridges you want a 3 piece. I don't really want an extra accessory to hassle with replacing and or losing. That's what I do, I lose these kinds of things. A simple two piece would be better tho huh?
I'm still struggling with terms too. What's a clearomizer? The atty and carto should be one piece? See? I'm all sorts of lost. But thanks for all the recommendations! Seriously, I would totally have just impulse bought the wrong one by now.
Hoosier vapes sounds very promising too.

Actually a cartomizer is ONE unit that combines an atomizer & a cartridge together. Nifty, huh?
So if you have a cartomizer & a battery, you will only have 2 pieces.

Right, there are two basic ways go convert the juice to vapor. The first is with a cartridge and atomizer. The second is with the two combined and it is called a cartomizer or clearomizer.

Of the first type, the cartridges come in two types, a cartridge that has a fill to hold the liquid (cart or standard), or a tank-cartridge with membranes on one end to hold the liquid (T or C type).

Of the second type there are two basic types, a tube with fill that has the heating coil within a hollow tube inside the fill (Cartomizer, Carto), or two tubes within each other where the liquid is in the outer tube and the coil is within the inner tube. (Clearo, Clearomizer, Stardust)

All of these are available in blanks that can be filled and refilled.

Not to confuse you further, but I don't use any of the above methods to vape normally. (I sometimes use a clearo when driving.) I use an atomizer without a cartridge, but with a drip tip instead, and usually vape that way. (I am one of the ones that doesn't like cartomizers.)

I started with tobacco juices, I figured they'd help with the cravings (they did). But now I freakin' love those sweet dessert flavors. Apple pie sounds like a winner! Best of luck.

Try some carrot cake from Pure Vapes with extra flavor and 1 spoon of sweetner. Every time I hit it I instinctively want to chew. That good. :p

Hooser is there a link that you could point me to that shows pics of the insides of what you're talking about. Great explanations btw.

An atty is easy, that is in the ECF Library. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/ecf-library/88286-rebuilding-your-510-atomizer-step-step-801-901s-too.html

A cartomizer http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/ask-veterans/91498-cartomizer-teardown-pics.html#post1367799

A clearo is pretty straightforward eGo CE Dual Coil 3.5ml Clear Cartomizers 1.5+0.2ohm

My searches don't turn up anything as good for the C & T types.

(I do not recommend any vendors that may appear in these links, I'm just grabbing pictures.)

Cartomizers can be refilled as easily as catridges. It's just a matter of dropping some of the liquid into the filler material. Clearomizers use a wick system instead of poly fill.

Drippers eliminate the feeding system and just do it themselves. They will drop 2-3 drops on the atomizer and vape until they need more and then repeat the process. Some people swear by the flavor but I find it to be a pain in the .....

The atomizer-cartridge method is now very outdated and almost obselete. The cartridges themselves were never a good juice delivery system. I don't even really get why those are still being sold.

If you haven't ordered already, Crystal Clear Vaping has a spiffy Ego starter kit that comes with a 3.5ml tank and 2 900mah ego batteries etc., with the carto tank setup and the two batts you can vape all day long without having to refill anything or recharge.

Crystal Clear Vaping

P.S. If you want to grab some juice while you're there I recommend the Black & Mild flavor.
