Hey guys. I recently got into the e-cigarette phenomenon & I LOVE IT.
I've been a pack a day smoker for years and the day I started vaping I cut down to about 4 analogs a day. Great stuff. I'm obsessed now with e-liquids (Mister-e-liquid) & customizing my PV.

I do have a quick question for you guys though.

I have a regular 510 650mah 3.7volt battery. I'm using the pre-filled & blank cartos that came with the kit. These cartos are low resistance.

I recently acquired a dual coil smoktech 3.5ml tank with the prepunched 1.5 ohm carto inside. This low ohm carto works fine with my 3.7volt battery. That being said... I want to step it up a notch & get a variable voltage battery. I'm planning on ordering myself an eGo Twist 1000mah battery & plan on turning it to the max voltage for the Twist: 4.7 volts.

The 1.5 ohm replacement cartos for the smoktech tank seems to be only in low resistances. Other cartos (higher resistances) seems to be standard in size & the cartos that slide into the smoktech tank are actually longer than standard sizes. So I guess I'm stuck with lower resistance carto's with the smoktech tank.

That being said.... is it ok to vape @ 4.5-4.7 volts with a 1.5 ohm cartomizer?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a bunch! :)

You'd really do better using a 3.0 ohm carto at higher voltages. Take a look at the Safe Vaping Power Chart in this link:

Vaping Power Chart 2.0 - Imgur

Find the 3.0 ohm resistance on the left vertical column, and follow the green boxes to the right until you get to 8.3 watts, which if you look at the top horizontal column is 5 volts. Recommended safe vaping is in the green boxes.

I used to get my Smokteck cartos from this website before switching to Ikenvape Platinums: 510 Tank Cartomizers

You might want to get a few single coil cartos to try, too. I've found them to be a smoother vape, and less drain on a battery than the dual coils.

Hi Noc. I own a Twist. I have bad news for you on the 1.5ohm load you plan to run on it. It will work, but you will top out the amperage limit at about 4v. Im next to certain that the twist's amperage limit is right around 2.5.... You will be able to twist the knob anywhere on the spectrum above the amperage limit and it will throttle back to avoid damage to the device. Not to mention if you want any type of bettery life you will not want to run the 1.5dc cartos. Keep in mind the dual coils inside there are each 3ohms, and they are wired in parralell to total the carto load at 1.5ohms. In this configuration , the power is shared across the loads. Meaning even though you may calculate for example 14watts of output, each coil will be producing 7watts of output. The benefit of the dual coils is that you can heat and vaporize twice as much liquid when compared to a single coil carto becaise you have twice as much coil area in contact with your liquid.

If you are looking for a carto to replace the one in your tank, look for some of the XL versions from either Smoktech or Boge. They will be the correct length and most vendors who carry the xl versions also carry the ones that are pre-punched for use in a tank. In my opinion this would be your best option for use on any eGo battery, preferably in a Low Resistance coil(LR 1.7-2 ohm) for use on either device.

If you just want to run the dual coil cartos then jump right past the twist and get some type of mod that can actually do a good job of running it. Good Luck. Happy Vaping.

Thank you all very much for your input!

I've been looking around at what you guys suggested & was wondering:

Could I run a single coil 3 ohm 2-hole cartomizer in my smoktech tank with the Twist running at 4.5 volts?
The chart says this is a perfect mix of ohm and voltage but I'm still getting a bit confused with the Twists limit? The Twist can crank up to 4.8 volts but I'd be fine with a single coil 3 ohm 2-hole cartomizer implemented into the tank ran on 4.5 volts.

What do you guys think?

Again, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again guys! :)

Hi Again Noc. Yes that would be fine on the twist. The twist will run full boosted voltage (4.8v) on any single coil carto down to ~2ohms. The 3ohm carto would get you about as good on runtime as you could expect and a wide range of adjustment on vapor temperature. I advise you to try a few options as far as the carto ohm load to see what works best for you.

Thanks for your input Iusedtoanalog! Yeah, I think I'll start at 3 ohm's single coil carto at 4.5 volts & mess around from there to see what I really like.
Thanks again.

It's funny you mentioned Mister E-liquid as I was just browsing their site. I was looking for local vendors and since I am from the Grand Rapids area, although I am usually in E. Lansing for school, I thought I'd check around the Rapids area too. I found Mr. E's. How is his juice is it pretty good? I will be home next weekend, thought about stopping in and picking up a few different bottles to try out.

Hey fellow Michigander :p.

I love Mister-E-Liquids.

Just superb juices. I know a lot of people (outside of Michigan too) that only go through Mister-E's now. They have great flavors at pretty good prices. Awesome customer service too.
Yeah if I were you, & being so close to them as you are, I would for suurre check them out.

Hope that helped :p

I decided I came back to talk about the smokteck tank that I am using. It is running with the stock 1 pre-punched hole dual coil 1.5 ohm carto that came with it. I'm running this 3.5ml tank on a 650ml 3.7 volt 510 thread battery.

I notice when taking a nice drag from this unit, I get more of a hmm, let's say "airy" hit? & the vapor production is not as near as much as I get from when just hitting from a 1.5 ohm carto (no tank). Could this be because it is only running on the 3.7 volts? I'm planning on replacing the carto with a 2 hole single coil carto, but from what I remember, aren't dual coil carto's supposed to create more vapor? Seem's as I'm not getting enough of it.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

-Noc

P.S.

In the above posts in this thread I mentioned about getting a 1000mah Twist.
I think I am going to get a Spinner instead.

Being a newer vapor myself, I have only tried a few of Mister-E's juices... they ALL are fantastic... well they did send me some free sample bottle of Jamocha Haze. It's like a chocolate coffee type flavor. Too much chocolate for a vape for myself.

Some good ones are:

-Pure Michigan... This one is actually great. Contains flavors from 2 of Michigan's cash crops: Apples & Strawberries. You get more of an apple flavor thought. (They do have a Pure Michigan Ice juice as well. Same thing just an added menthol flavor).

-Grey Matter... It's pretty hard to describe the exact flavor of this one, but it is one of the more popular flavor's among Mister-E.

-Jade Tiger... This one I really love. I just got it in the mail so I'm not sure if the flavor hasn't worn me out yet? But it's great.. delicious blend of Watermelon, Strawberry, Pineapple, and a hint of coconut (barely detectable). (Mister-E also has an "Ice"/Menthol version of this juice as well: Jade Ice)

They did send me a free sampler of a flavor called, Bermuda Rain. It was ok... a little more on the perfumey side :(.
Plus samplers are a work in progress so you wouldn't be able to order a big bottle of that yet.

Also every order you get a free 3-4ml bottle of something they are working on.

They actually did just release a couple new juices called Technicolor, Pink Dragon & Smart Ice.

Technicolor:
Technicolor, Technicolor, Technicolor.... What is Technicolor? It's kind of like an Afro Circus, but then again it could be more like a Zebra jumping over a Rainbow. Regardless of how we describe Technicolor, this juice simply ROCKS! Technicolor is our attempt at the classic, Fruit Stripe Zebra Gum! Named by our friends over at VapeTV, Technicolor is sure to please! This fruity blend has great flavor, great throat hit, and wonderful vapor production. Steep time is 3-7 days.
Researching a bit on those new ones, I'm a bit excited to try out the Technicolor.

Pink Dragon:
Another Mister-E-Liquid exclusive, PINK DRAGON is a multi flavor blend with a solid throat hit, plumes of vapor and plenty of delicious flavor. Pink Dragon is the little sister to Green Dragon, and Blue Dragon. Pink Dragon is slightly sweeter and softer than her big brothers, but she doesn't take any smoke from her kin, she holds her own! The labs at Mister-E-Liquid are proud to offer Pink Dragon, it's just on of those E-Liquids that you have to try. We prefer to vape Pink Dragon in a Carto or Cartotank. Steep time is 5-7 days.

Smart Ice:
Smart Ice is a blend of our classic Sweet Smarts and menthol! This dry/cold vape really hits the spot. Smart ice could be your next favorite juice and is only available from the labs of Mister-E-Liquid.

That Technicolor has me a bit excited to try. :D

Anywayy... those are basically all the flavor's that I have tried from Mister-E. Like I said besides that one free sampler of a chocolate based weirdness, they are great.

Compared with other vendor's I've tried, I really love Mister-E-Liquids. :)

I'm guessing that you meant that you are using a 650 mAh eGo battery. Dual coil cartos are more of a drain on a battery than single coils, and some people will go so far to say that you need at least 4.5 volts to power them adequately. The eGo batteries, although advertised to be 3.7v, in reality put out more around 3.5v at best. So my guess you are going to get the best performance from using your eGo with a single coil cartomizer.

Should you end up getting a Twist or Spinner, I recommend getting a higher ohm carto for a wider range of usable voltages. Take a look at the following Safe Vaping Power Chart:

Ah, yes. I meant to type "mah" not "ml" :p.

Thanks for the help.

I decided to order a 1300 mah VISION Spinner & some 3.0 ohm single coil replacement carto's for the tank.
I'm sure the Spinner will be fine with the 3 ohm cartos.

When the Spinner does come, I'll see if a higher voltage would effect the vapor production on a dual coil carto.

Thanks again.

Here's a review that I wrote for Pure Michigan by Mister-E-Liquid: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ews/366153-mister-e-liquid-pure-michigan.html

That's a great review Firestorm. I read it before I purchased a 18ml bottle of Pure Michigan from Mister-E-Liquid. Even though Pure Michigan was going to be a must try (just because I live in Michigan - lol), I have to say your review made it even more exciting for me to try the juice.

I also ordered a 18ml bottle of Grey Matter & found it to be a bit like Pure Michigan. Pure Michigan obviously having more of a fruit flavor. I was wondering if any of you guys have tried Grey Matter from Mister-E-Liquid?
