I'm looking to buy a unique electronic cigarette. I see that there are lots of mods, lots of tanks, lots of drip tips etc. Do all brands work with all brands? Little confused on which direction to go. But I'm looking for something with some class and not the "made in the garage" look like I see with many of the models on here. Any help would be great :) Money is not really an issue as long as the entire kit is under 300 bucks or so.

There are unlimited choices of vaping gear resembling plumbing or tool box items. Elegant gear designed from the ground up with an artistic sensibility doesn't happen. Dieter Rams' reputation is in absolutely no peril whatsoever from the vaping world.

The eRoll is a cig-alike that comes in an iPhone-type PCC case. It's hardly an original design but at least it doesn't look like it stripped the branches of the ugly tree clean on its way down. I use one for out and about. It gets a nearly universally positive reaction from people. I consider it my ambassador for vaping.

The eRoll atomizers and cartridges are proprietary but they are too small to use on larger gear anyway so it's not a big deals. It is worth noting that most people prefer the more satisfying vape that one can get with larger sized gear.

Innokin is at least trying to do something design-wise. Their yet to be released VTR has some art deco elements that give it a retro feel. Also, the juice delivery cubbyhole keeps the design compact so you don't have an ugly juice delivery device sitting on top of the PV. That said, it's not likely a Design Museum candidate.

The VTR has a 510 connection for juice delivery devices which is pretty much a universal standard. Some juice delivery devices will require a 510-to-eGo adapter but they are cheap and plentiful.

Way over your budget and still pretty much in the plumbing category are Otto Carter's offerings

Unless you are only an occasional smoker I would strongly recommend you begin with purchasing on the basis of what will function best for you rather than paying too much attention to appearance. Down the road you might be able to get someone to make something custom for you that appeals to your esthetic sensibilities so you can enjoy using your gear more.

These all look still too mechanic - they may have some nice finishing on the metals and some unique engravings, but still have a look of nicely cnc'ed garage parts... Is there not any options as far as something with much more class?

And what is an RBA?

If you think the Nemesis looks like it was cnc'd out of a garage then I'd suggest you saving up 500-1000 minimum as only a starting point and go searching for some Carvella's, Otto's or other rare high end mods. No one knows your taste as well as YOU.

This being said you come here ask for feedback then simply give no gratitude for contributions made toward your question then to continue with them all looking too machined. At which point you start questioning how no one can find a mod that has much more "class per say" within your limited budget. I find this insulting and it makes you sound pretentious and ungrateful.

An RBA is a rebuildable atomizer. There is a little blank white box to the right of the jobs tab above which you could simply type your question then have it find a similar thread with an answer which would yield this result.

If you're concerned about compatibility, you only need to look for atties / mods connections (510 / eGo / 808 / etc.)
Most of the atomizers and mods out there use a 510 connection nowadays but you never know.
People usually tend to match diameters also (19 / 20 / 21 / 22 mm).
However, this is only aesthetic.

I would have to agree. What are your preferences?
Do you want a tube shaped device? Box? Other?
Metal, wood or plastic?
Small, large?
Mechanical only or regulated.
Some idea of your tastes may help.

...

While they are beloved by many I don't think it would be fair to assume that Caravelas or Otto's work would suit everyone's taste.

It is perfectly sensible for anyone to want to have vape gear that appeals to their design esthetic for a sane amount of money. Great commercial design certainly doesn't always come with a high price tag.

I see nothing the slightest bit insulting about the OP simply stating that he or she is wanting something different than what was posted. It is basic psychology to reinforce desired behavior with as many positive associations as possible. That should include the ability to use vaping gear that one finds at least reasonably appealing to help break the psychological part of the addiction to cigarettes.

The grace and patience with which beginners are normally treated is the thing I most love about ECF. I hope someone can come up with some ideas for gear that the OP might find suitable.

If you want a sharp looking solid performing tube mod get a Nemesis with a good quality RBA.

^^ He says with a REO in his hand. (haven't seen one quite that big before tho')

There are three PV's that stand out above all the others, the Silver Bullet, Provari, and Reo.
However if you live in France you may find European made PV's more to your liking.

RBA = Rebuildable Atomizer. They take some practice and knowledge of electrical theory.

You're not making this easy for the ECF community. You've told us what you don't want, but haven't told us what you do want.

You're going to have to define what your idea of "class" is. Many mechanical mod owners--especially collectors of Caravelas and Ottos--consider their devices to be the epitome of class and style. Regulated, or electronic, mod owners--especially owners of the Gatling Gun Itazte 134 and the ProVari--consider theirs to be the top of the line.

You'll have to be more specific in what you're looking for.

I would like to apologize if I upset anyone. However, like all forums, I am here to achieve information, not upset people or attack people.

When I say the made in garage look, I talk about the fact that there is no curvature or stylism put into the design itself. I can say that the carvella's have very beautiful craftmanship and finishing. However, I am looking for something with a little more design and less bulky and obvious. When I put a budget at 300, as with all my toys, this rule can always be broken for the right product ;)

As far as electronically controlled vs. mechanic, I have always been more of a classic kind of person, so I would lean towards mechanic, but it is not a game changer. If you will I like classics with a modern look. I have a refined taste for luxurious products, and often choose the choice less chosen.

For choices between wood, plastic, metal... I would say, I like titanium, wood, gold accents, not a fan at all of chrome or polished silvers/aluminum/steel.

I would say I prefer small over big.

Thank You to everyone who has helped so far, and I am certain that soon I will find the perfect product!

I'm just gonna throw this out here, and see if this is along your lines. You want curves. This one has curves.

However, I'm not sure this is still in production. You may want to contact the manufacturer, and see if they could make one for you if they are no longer shipping to distributors.
