I am having issues with 808 cartos. First, I Can not get my cleaned 808 cartos to work again. I have tried : 1) making sure the connection on the carto is pulled out (very carefully) so the connection is good between it & the battery. 2) Using sandpaper on the threading of the 808 battery. Does anyone have any other suggestions for me to try?

I also had a pack of NEW ones, but when I fill them with juice I a get a chemical or metal taste no matter what flavor of juice I use. I can put the same juice in a boge carto & it is fine.

Also, I was gifted some prefilled 808 cartos from V4L but when I tried them there was no flavor. I looked inside & the juice had dried up & crusted inside.(nasty):( Should I even bother cleaning these & trying to revive them or should I toss them? Is it too late to save these?

I'd pass on the 'gifted cartos' - no loss - if they came from V4L that way, I'd send them back.

On the 'cleaned' cartos - if it were more than one - I'd ask how did you clean them/ ...because if they worked before cleaning and then not afterwards, it shouldn't be a connection/centerpost problem. Chances are there are internal problems with the coil or the connections... or they are 'flooded'. Try leaving them out - to dry out - after cleaning for a while and try them again.
