I have been using Boge 2.0 cartos on my Grand, generally pleased. I fill brand new carto once, using the condom method, and a few drops on the top after that I just squonk from Grand should I be filling more than once?? I vape 3mls a day and get about 5 days from the carto is this about right? Any other suggestions more than welcome. Thanks.

When we vape, condensation forms in the drip tip and top part of the carto above the filling material. The filling material absorbs it. Eventually, your juice is watered down. You could try blowing out your cartos or even some kind of cleaning method when you notice the flavor drop off, but that's up to you.

I had to be pulled snarling and growling to try a atty....OK...you were all correct...It's so much better.
No really, try either a HH357 or Avid Vapers cisco spec 1.5 or 1.8. Or Crystal Clear Vaping has 15 Resurrector
1.7 cartos for $21.95.

Did attys for over a year, and still use them.
Problem for me is they are only better some of the time.

Some times 80% as good 100% of the time is better than 100% good 50% of the time :)

I agree with you Tim I have been using the Resurrectors more and more because seems like there is NO consistency in these Darn Attys.

Amen Tim. As a sworn chain vaper and atty slayer I couldn't agree more. Yes, I have tried, but with my vaping style I can't get attys to work for me. I would rather have a good reliable vape 99% of the time than an "awesome" vape 10% of the time. Yes, it's sad, but 90% of the time my carto's perform better.

I have tried, but my attys are sitting in a tin next to my juice mixing table.

Five days sounds about normal to me. Although, you might have been lucky to depending on the juice that you were using. Some cartos only last me a day or two before they go in the trash. This is with something like gorilla juice.

How long do you let it sit after the initial fill before you actually start vaping? I usually set it sit for 20-30 minutes just to get everything to soak in properly. After the 10-15 hits afterwards, let it sit for a few minutes since you need the "diapers" to be constantly wet. When it's dry then you will notice the drop in flavor.

If you want to see this in action than I would recommend getting 1 or 2 clear dual coils. This is what I used to learn how to use a carto correctly. Also, it'll show what really happens inside of a carto after it's being used for a while. It's a real eye opener.

I use 100% VG juice. My Resurrectors get about 10-15 drops in the top before going on my REO. Then I squonk a little while drawing. Then after about a minute squonk and draw again. Then just vape and squonk when the vapor drops.
I get great flavor. They are lasting me about two or three weeks. If I look down inside I still see white around the edges for the first week. When they get so tight I can't vape, then looking inside I notice they are pretty well soaked.

What exactly does happen? The atty is at bottom of carto then theres the tube in the middle with the wire running inside and outside of the tube is the filler. Where is the liquid vaporized on top or bottom of carto? When feeding from bottom does juice go up to the top of the tube or does it fill from the bottom up? Sounds stupid but I don't know or really understand how carto works. Thanks.

Then should one always see a little white around the top? If you overfill is that when the vape gets to tight? I thought you couldn't get a carto too wet. Thanks.

I found the first ones that I used did not last. I was trying to keep them topped off with juice. The filling was all swelled up and could not draw. So decided to try less juice, and it is working great. Really only need to keep juice around the center where the vapor is produced. At least that is what I found.

When you initially fill the carto. The filler will be wet but it takes a little bit for the juice to spread throughout the cartomizer to the point where it can get the diapers wet. To clarify what the "diaper" is. It's the piece of cotton that is wrapped around the coil. If it doesn't stay wet and gets dry. It's the first item in your carto that is going to burn regardless if the filler is soaked in juice or not. Also, it's what supplies the coil with juice to burn which will effect the taste that your getting from your cartomizer. If the diaper is burnt. Than you will either notice that it doesn't taste as good. As when you first filled it and also, there will be a SLIGHT taste of a burnt flavor. A lot of people don't usually notice this but, that's when I usually dissect my cartomizer to confirm my suspicions. Ultimately, it's the reason why it's important to let your carto sit for a few minutes after 5-10 hits.

As for the atty being on the bottom of the carto. That's only true if it's a horizontal coiled cartomizer. Since your using a Boge LR which is a vertical coiled cartomizer. Meaning that the coil is in the middle of the tube of the cartomizer. While the filler material is surrounding it to ensure it's being fed properly. Also, since the coil is connected to a wire that runs throughout it. The way I think about it....logically the wire is going to get hot as well since the heat is spread from the coil to the rest of the wire it's connected to. Personally, I don't fill it to the very brim where the top of the carto is soaking wet. Which means that you have basically flooded your carto. But, I do like to see some color on top where I know that it's filled all the way through. That's when I notice that I get the best flavor and vape from my carto.

As for your second question. It's getting vaporized from the middle since that's where the coil is located at. The top where the wire loops around and goes into the filler material gets pretty warm but it's gravity itself that draws the liquid down to the middle of the cartomizer. This is supplementing the loss of liquid in that area. Which is why you will notice that the top of their carto gets dry first.

For your third question, it's going to be filling from the bottom up. Since that's where the liquid comes out of the feeding tube/510 connection. When I use a carto on my REO. I simply don't treat it like an atty. My blind squonks are slightly longer which allows more juice to go throughout the carto. Usually a second or two followed by a few (3-4) dry hits to help pull the juice from the bottom to the top of the carto.

I am by no means an expert on cartomizers but, this is what I learned from personal experience. Hoped I helped a little bit and if you have anymore questions than ask away.

Finally, no...it's not stupid at all. Without asking questions....it makes it extremely hard to learn anything.
