hello everyone

Ive got a few questions and hope you guys could help me out!

Im looking to purchase a new mechanical to go with my new 454 Big Block mod! Ive got this mod running on 24g wire 4 coil running at .10 Ohms. Currently ive got a Chiyou clone and running hot/burning me. My question is

What mechanical mod would you guys think would be the best? Im looking to spend $250-$300 ?
Also where would be a good place to purchase this unit n Orange County, Ca area?

Thank you for your time:vapor:

What kind of battery are you using that can handle 42A? I'm hoping you really meant 1.0 ohm and not 0.1.

It's hot because no 18650 battery can handle that kind of current. You're lucky the battery hasn't gone into thermal runaway. Even if it was safe, what kind of meter are you using that has that kind of accuracy? You should look for the blogs, on here, that deal with battery safety before your battery vents hot gas onto your face.

If you want to stay super low, you would need a 26650 mod of some kind. The batteries come in around 50 amps. The simple solution is trying .5 or so to see if you like the taste, but 26650's will always be around whenever you want them. The only authentic 26650 I've ever messed with is a super t simplicity. It was a really nice mod. Sadly, the mrs. won;t let me get the 18650 version. Damn bills.

.1 ohm? That is 42 amps on a freshly charged battery! Keep in mind, the highest amp limit I've seen for a 18650 is 35amp continuous. Now, keep in mind, if you're judging by pulse ratings, you technically CAN run it at .1 ohms, but your battery will get hot and you run the risk of a thermal vent. Just my warnings.

With that set aside... Since it's a clone, I would sand the contacts down... most of the clones's machinery isn't the best, so I'd start with 400 grit sandpaper, and sand down the contacts ever so slightly to remove any machining marks.. Then raise the grit up to 1000 grit and smooth it. If you really want to get down to it, I'd polish it up with polishing compound. most of a hot button issues is poor connectivity. Examine your contact points. Make sure they're clean and perfectly flat. Any machining marks, and it'll have less connectivity in that area. I've had to do this for a few of the mods.

As far as which mod should you use if you want to upgrade? You might want to look into an all copper mod. make sure it is ALL copper, and not copper body and brass contacts and avoid wires like a plague. something like THIS would be nice, but if you go clone, be prepared to do some sanding and polishing.

At the risk of sounding like your father, if you are running a 0.10 ohm coil and don't know why your mod is hot, you should read more about batteries.

Also, cheap DMMs are not capable of accuracy at those low of resistances.

Good luck to you.

monthly normally

You'll want to test your coil after your atomizer is fully assembled. Since you have Sony VTC5's and you're used to sub-ohming, I'd definately stay above .15. I personally like to stay above .4, but I'm not a big cloud chaser.

All I have is a fluke.. I need to calibrate it. :)

I'd get a Hcigar SS nemisis. I have one and it so easy to use and built better than the other clones. But before I finish you need to get my Mech speech. Learn Ohms laws. Get a Volt ohm meter and use it. Learn battery safety and make it a discipline to use the the locking ring. Most mod accidents are from folks screwing up and a mech is a good place to do that. It has only the human being as a controller. Also here is something you will find useful. Ohm's law | Steam Engine | free vaping calculators
It also will do wire calculations if you get in to rebuilding.
