Need Help with e liquid

Hi my name is Sheryl and I have been reading this forum for a week or more now and Wow my 1 brain cell is in overload at the moment. lol I have been using an e cig for a little over a month now and really like it. This one doesn't even have a type number it's just a Pure Smoke e-cigarette, not Puresmoker just Pure Smoke different name. There's a cigar store here that sells them. It has been very good but I want something different besides the pre filled filter which are $31 for 10 a bit steep and that's all this one takes. Today I ordered a 510 from Michal with AmericasBestbuys and I'm waiting for it to arrive. I've seen quite a bit of good reviews on this 510 so hopefully I will love it too. He is out of the e liquid that he sells so now I need to find someplace that sells the liquid to go in the e-cig and I don't know where to go or what to actually get. I know nothing about the e liquid I've only used the pre filled filters, and this PG VG or whatever it is has me very confused. I guess you could say I need a good liquid with a good vapor blow. lol So any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

PG is Propylene Glycol, whereas VG is Vegetable Glycerin. From what I'm given to understand, PG doesn't give as much vape as VG. In my case, however, I think I may be allergic to VG and thus PG is the way I have to go. Glad we have two options.

Since I'm a clove smoker, I went with the company that had the clove flavor closest to the Djarum Black, which in my case was DIY Flavorshack. I can't vouch for any of their other flavors, but their clove is top-notch and even gives a bit of a "lip hit" just like a real clove.

Happy vaping!

Hi Sheryl

I bought my first PV from America's Best Buys which was also the 510. Very good starter and all your 510 cartridges and atomizers will fit some good upgrades (like the eGo or Tornado) which is what I have now done.

I originally bought the "gift pack" which came with about 50 pre-loaded cartridges, but now, I wish I hadn't as they are just sitting on my shelf. Keep all your old cartridges (do not throw them away) as the 510's can all be re-filled with your own choice of e-liquid.

As to where to buy e-liquid, I have had good results with Madvapes.com and with NHaler.com. Right now though, MadVapes doesn't have much of a selection since they have been having trouble getting bottles. Some MadVapes liquid seems to come from China, but they have a line called TopVapor which they have told me is made here in the US.

NHaler is a bit more expensive than MadVapes but I think all of their liquids are made herein the US which I like. Both have the little 5 ml bottles of sample flavors which are great to try out a flavor to see if you like it. I've had very good service from both with deliveries arriving just a few days after ordering.

One more thing about e-liquids is the level of nicotine you want. I started out with 24mg nicotine but have now found that too high for me. I've been ordering 0mg nic flavors to cut the nicotine down in the 20 and 30 ml bottles I have previous bought.

Re-filling your "carts" is very easy. Just use a paper clip to pull out the filler. Add about seven drops into the empty cart and re-insert the filler. I occasionally rinse out the filler material under the tap and dry them by pressing them with a paper towel. There are a lot of tutorials here in the forum about how to do this.

Eventually, you may want to buy some "Cartomizers" which are a combination of the Cartridge and the atomizer in one. They are very easy to fill using the "Condom Method" and they last a long time.

Good luck and keep reading!

Wow Thanks everyone. Seems there is still a lot to learn about these things. I'm just super happy they have come out with them. Hooray to the people that think of these things. lol

Thank you for the difference in the PG VG 2xMakina I wasn't totally sure about that and I'm still not to sure what the PV everyone talks about is. I haven't learned the computer short version talk for these e cigarettes yet I guess. lol

I don't want a high volume of nicotine so low is good for me. I'm using 11mg in the filters I have now and today I've puffed a bit to much and think I'm having a nicotine OD my eye lids and nose is burning. lol I don't think it's as much the nicotine that has me as much as the habit of the vapor smoke and puffing. But I haven't actually gone without the nicotine so it may just be all talk and not reality lol.

So from what I can gather at the moment VG is better for vapor output, is that correct? I'm kind of sure of the strength anything below 11 would probably be good for me. I just need a good vapor blow. That sounds funny but it's the only way I know to say it. lol

Abbreviations: There's a sticky at the beginning of this forum that mentions all the abbreviations. Also, take a look at your post...note the abbreviations that are underlined -- they are not misspelled. If you mouseover them and pause a moment, a definition will pop up.

PV = personal vaporizer. (the politically correct term for an e-cig)

Anything you see in a forum post that has the dotted underline - can be moused over for a further definition.

Happy vaping!

Check out our E-Liquid reviews forum thread for 'what's popular' - but make sur eyou read 2 or 3 pages worth and not just page 1.
TV is a very good supplier as is DIYFlavorshack and the ones under my banner are all great too. All of the suppliers under my banner btw are all registered forum suppliers, they also have their own forum threads you can ask questions in if you need to, and links to their respective websites, so they aren't going to rip you off :)
Remember though, taste is very subjective and what we all like might not be what YOU like, so bear that in mind when you order. At first its often best to stick to things you like in real life, like for example 'banana cream pie' or 'caramel'. Most tobacco flavor juices aren't going to taste like cigarettes either - almost all have a faint sweetness to them, some have a noticable sweetness; some of that comes from the carrier liquid (PG or VG) and some is added depending on the flavor.

I get my liquid from Tasty Vapor and MyFreedomSmokes. Both have great customer service. Tasty Vapor has fantastic flavors and the prices are great if you order a high mg level of the nicotine liquid and the Doubler of the same flavor and mix it down to the level of nicotine you like. MyFreedomSmokes lets you order higher flavor levels so that you can order high strength liquid and then mix it down with VG or PG you buy at the pharmacy. MyFreedomSmokes also has variety packs so you can try a bunch of different flavors to find what suits your fancy. Right now I'm also hooked on the Menthol flavor I got with my Joye Stick from DomesticVapor. They have great service and great prices as well.

I was told that the PG would be a good buy just for the vapor results and could get it at just about any store. This has made me kind of wonder about my pharmacy when I showed them the paper where I had Propylene Glycol written down on they sent me to the Laxatives. Now I'm no genius but isn't there a difference between polyethylene glycol and Propylene glycol. :shock:

Either way they looked at me like I was nuts when trying to explain it to them. It was actually kind of funny. So as it goes I'm still trying to figure out where and what kind of e liquid to get. This has been harder to figure out than which PV to get. :unsure:

I've only purchased liquid from two suppliers, Tasty Vapor and Cignot, and now I'm making my own, but both TV and Cignots liquids are excellent. The link for Tasty Vapor is tastyvapor.us, I kept trying the .com like an idiot wondering what I was doing wrong..LOL. All the suppliers have forums here with lots of good information. Welcome and good luck!!

For the time being, it may be best for you to keep things simple and not fret about the PG. Chances are good that most advertised flavors will have enough vapor to get you by while learning the ropes. Just try some of the flavors with a low nicotine content and go from there.

Regarding PG/VG --

PG = more throat hit
VG = more vapor

Both can be bought unflavored and without nic at pharmacies and online -- many juice suppliers offer it on their sites. Hit the search button at the top of ECF to look for threads, there are many! :)

You can add either to your juice but it will water down/dilute the flavor. A noteable exception is buying doublers such as the ones Tasty Vapor sells -- they are Omg flavors that match their nic flavors and you can pick the PG/VG ratio to add to your nic juice. And, yes, you can vape the doublers solo as well!

Lots of bang for your buck plus the ability to tweak the PG/VG content of your juice even more...
