Hello everyone. Having some problems with my steam turbine clone. I have wired coils on my Trident and Ithaka clone many times, but I cant seem to understand a few things about the Steam Turbine.
#1 Why is there 3 extra holes in the top that are wide open. So I build a dual coil and use 2 of the holes, is the third for filling? If mod is on side it leaks right? Why would they not give you a screw to seal between filling?
#2 I tried wiring a coil with 30 Kanthal. I oxidized wick and rolled to a perfect size around a paper clip. I spaced off bottom of tank and proceeded with the kanthal starting at the negative screw. I wrapped my starting wrap around the ss mesh wick and continued like a normal coil till I got level with the top of postive post. I then secured kanthal and removed paperclip and tried to pulse like I would on my rda sort of prime the coil till it starts getting red thru out. Well on this Turbine I have tried 6 times to wire and everytime it immediately pops the coil at the top near positive post. Ohms are from .8 to 1.0 ohms and this is just the one coil testing I have not made it past one less two on this turbine. I think I might just try a dual coil but use ecowool or silica and see if I get any better results.
