Howdy! I've been recoiling many things over the 2-3 years I've been vaping but I am having such a hard time with the steam turbine clone... I got it for my wife for Valentines day and she's in love with the aesthetics, BUT it only hits great for about 3 drags and then gets unbearably hot on the 4th drag and burns the crap out of your throat. I've coiled it from .8 up to 1.4 ohm even and had the same results. Tried single coil, dual coil, higher ohm, lower ohm, new mesh, re-oxidizing the mesh, 28 gauge, 32 gauge and even drilled out bigger air holes. I'm out of ideas. I am also positive that there are no hot spots on the coil, nice even glow. She's using it with a Nemesis and we've tried pulsing it as well as non pulsing. Am I just going too low on the ohms for that type of tank? I'm not really used to the Genny style atomizers, I've pretty much stuck to drippers etc.... Anyone have any suggestions?

posted this in your wifes thread,,,, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P20dXHUQCJM

half way through the video he does a Chimney micro coil like how I have in my Kfun lite+. if you can do anything like that with the coil over the airhole so the airflow goes through the coil instead of just hitting the wraps on the bottom. My KFL+ doesn't get hot and the vape is nice an smooth, gets warm but not hot or even close to burning my throat.

Never tried the steam turbine so idk why it would be getting so hot but my guess is the coil is getting super hot or something like that. or the coil isn't directly over the airhole causing it to get really hot and burn

I haven't tried the cotton build, but think that might be something we'll be trying soon, I really wanted to use the SS mesh though.

As far as Rips video, we actually have a KFL as well and it's been great, the only thing she doesn't like is the air flow through it and we've got it opened all the way. She's really digging the 2 huge holes I drilled into the Steam Turbine now and wants something with the same sort of air flow.

The KFL is the other one she's got and it's been getting her through at the moment, but she really wants to use a Genny style atty like with the steam turbine.

Oh well man you gotta try cotton haha, Cotton tastes the best and is a pretty smooth vape. best tasting vape IMO. Did you take the screw all the way out? That might help the airflow. I honestly dig mine around half way open closed. with the chimney coil I seemed to get a little better airflow than the regular. Check out a Kraken, heard some good things about that myself and a buddy of mine did a Dual coil build on it with cotton im pretty sure. i'll try get a pic

I've tried cotton on normal drippers like that just never with a Genny style like the steamturbine. I'm actually using an igo-w that I've quad coiled on for my setup at the moment. Will post a pic of the build in a sec. I didn't take pics prior to using so they may not be super clear.

It's a 3 over 3 quad coil build reading at .29 ohms. Man.... this thing hits insane... the amount of vape it just mind blowing. I can fog out our living room so fast.
