So I recently got the 75w Pico and it reads the resistance of the coils and the voltage but when I fire it up it says “atomiser short”..I’ve looked at videos and I haven’t gotten any closer to fixing it..any help pls would be very much appreciated

What delivery device / 'tank' are you using on top of the Pico?
Is the 510 connection dry & clean?

Yes try another coil and make sure the coil is screwed in tightly. Some tanks have pins that are too short to make contact too
I’m using the Melo 3 mini and yes I’ve switched between the two coils it comes with and it’s still the same
Yes I’ve tried that but still the same result and can this pass through vape or do u need to have a battery in it to vape it

I would take apart the tank and examine it for defects, and examine the 510 pin on the mod for defects. If the insulator on either is not in tip top shape, it should not be used.
I never tried pass through vaping my Picos (or any other mod at that) so I cannot comment on that. All I can say is that I never trusted that feature so I never tried it.

Be sure they're authentic name brand cells with a sufficient CDR to support the power range you intend to use.
The display may work without a cell but it will not vape just using the usb cord as a power source.
That would be your problem. Yes, you need a battery. I've tried it just now without a battery and it very briefly said something on the screen which may have been "atomizer short" before it switched to the "device too hot" error message.
Try some of what I have written below. Sounds like the same issue was happening.

Welcome and glad you joined.
First thing I would do is confirm where the problem is. Might try to place another known working atomizer on your Pico and see if the short warning disappears. If the warning ceases, this would indicate that your problem is in the atomizer. IF the warning is still present, the problem is likely in the Pico 510 center spring loaded plate (could be both).
If your handy, could try to fix the offending piece of equipment yourself (See @SupplyDaddy 's post above) or call around to several B&M Vape shops in your area and see if one these folks can perform the fix.
Could fill in your location, it may help you in obtaining location specific information to your question(s).
On the top right hand corner of this post you will find --"your name" next to "Inbox and Alerts"

I would try to eliminate the atomizer first. Start by removing the existing coil and rinsing the base with plain old tap water. There may be some debris where the coil goes in that's causing a short. Then try the coil again.
Then try any other known good 22mm 510 capable atomizer.
If you still have the problem, you'll need to repair the Pico's 510 connector per SupplyDaddy's post. You might be able to pry up the center pin, but chances are you'll have to get inside.
Don't try to force an atomizer to seat flush all the way on the mod. If the male 510 connector is too long, then it's too long and that's that.

Guys, we've already identified the problem. He's trying to use it as a pass-through device, plugged in with no battery. It doesn't work like that. The screen does come on, but it spits an error message when the fire button is pressed. If you have a Pico, you can try it yourself. The solution is to buy a suitable battery and insert it into the device. Easy-peasy. If he tries that and it still doesn't work, we can start looking for other problems but for now, Occum's razor, yeah?
Great little mod and tank, but yes you do need a battery in it for pass through as already stated. I also recommend a decent battery charger and a second battery. I also do not trust pass through.

Sigh. All about battery safety HERE. Tell us where you are, Mooch's blog contains a list of suppliers but if you aren't in the US you may need something else.

Isn't the picos pin essentially like the pin on an ego device? You totally can pull up the pin on devices like that, you just need to be super careful and use something like a sewing needle to pry it up a bit. Ive done this hundreds of times with various mods without spring loaded pins.
It's a plate. You can't pull it up actually. You can push it up, maybe spread the spring under it a bit... but you have to take the whole thing apart.

I'm having the same "No Atomizer" issue with my Pico 75w now and it is so frustrating. I've read this whole thread and will try everything suggested. Does anyone know if Eleaf will repair or replace them?
