Hey guys, I'm new to vaping and got my kanger a week ago.

I have certain issues with the mod :

I tried wicking the rba with Shiseido cotton. The first few puffs turned out fine but subsequently I was getting dry hits.
Fired it only at 15W and when I removed the tank to check the wick, it was already burnt.

Stock OCC coil started leaking brown substance into the tank. From what I know, this is gunk from the different liquids used. Is it possible to wash the coil and reuse it? Will it clear the gunk?

Hope you vets can help me out! Thanks :)

Hi @Obsync. One of the common causes of getting dry hits is high vg juices. (you can dilute it with a few drops of distilled water) Another cause could be you're wicking it too tight. I'm just assuming you are priming the rba with a few drops of juice before you vape. If you're wicking it too much it will cause an issue as well. Check you tube for a wicking /coil building video on the Subtank rba.

The OCC coils (old style) can be taken apart and recoiled/re wicked. The new Vertical coils would be difficult to do. If they are leaking the old juice into the tank there is very little you can do. One option (not a guarantee) would be to soak it in vodka or pure grain alscohol (NOT rubbing alcohol) for a few days and see if it un gunks the coil by eating away the juice residue.

Thank you @Sir2fyablyNutz and @djsvapour .

What I did is to remove the two outer layers, rolled 1/4 of the remaining cotton and wicked it ! Its works fine now!

Btw is it normal for the RBA to heat up faster than the stock coils? Firing at 15W but the heat i get from it is equivalent to firing at 30-35W with the stock coil
