I just received my brand new riva 510 from liberty flights. I put it all together with an atomizer and carterage. Its so hard to puff on. It seems like there is no air comming through. Any ideas???

There should be airflow. Is there airflow through the atomizer when you take it off? How about through the cartridge? It has to be one or the other. If you can find out which one is the problem you can try replacing which ever is plugged. You can also try unscrewing the atomizer a little to see if that helps.
By any chance did you blow out the atomizer, to get rid of any primer on it? Blow through it onto a tissue.
Yeah like markfm says you need to blow out the primer from your atomizer. And then it will probably be a couple of hours until the taste of the primer completely goes, and performance really starts picking up after that.
Oh and the tightness of your atomizer screwed on to your battery, will determine how hard the draw is on it too.. Have a play with that.

I got a malfunctioning atty with my Riva kit and it couldn't suck any air. The bottom hole on the atty was occluded and covered with metal on the inside. Try covering the the 2 vent holes that are in the atty screw threads and blow through it. If no air gets through at all, your bottom hole might be sealed off too with metal. They will replace it if it is.

Dumb question sorry - but did you charge the battery?
And if you are getting some vapor but it's hard to drag on -
- is hard without the cowl?
- do any air holes seem to be blocked - do you see a clear path for air to get to the atty then up to your mouth?
- is the cart too dry? (or if you are using a cartomizer, try blowing it out or try another)

these are great PVs so there is definitely something wrong... the other suggestions above are a great start for the parts you currently have. i have a riva, ego, regular 510s and the advice i could give you is get some Cartomizers sometime. the atty method just didnt work for me in terms of consistency, coming apart, etc... for those new to ecigs, cartos are the way to go. i've had several friends get ego/rivas with cartos and they like them much better than the attys they came with.
The problem i have sometimes is i cover the little hole left near the atty on the cone. it's really annoying. I've gotten to the point where i don't use the cone half the time. try taking a "puff" without the cone on it
