OK this is driving me nuts. I am new to rebuildables but have had pretty good luck up until recently. Here is my problem. The base of the russian where the screws sit that you attach the coil to. IT SPINS. Or basically one side of it moves. Fairly easily. This is then causing shorts. So I open it up and sure enough the base is twisted. I twist it back to straight and it fires right up. BUT it is a royal pain in the .... to do this regularly!!

What am I doing wrong and how can I fix this? I can't imagine this is how it is supposed to be designed. Thanks for you help!

My 30mm kayfun Lite shorted because of this.. I took it off and rounded the face and corners off with a file, so it can't swing around and touch the negative. Another way around this is to make get it tightened up so it won't move freely, then use a thin strip of plastic/delrin/whatever pressed into the gap to keep the two blocks separated. Once the coil is in place, remove the plastic and the coil keeps the block in place.

I'm not sure if there's a reason for the two blocks to be so close, but it seems like a design oversight to me.

Grab the pos thick base and neg thin base from the top with a pair of pliers so it's sitting properly aligned and while holding it like that screw the 510 screw tight. Even when it's properly snug u still can't really crank down the pos screw when building. I usually tighten just enough to catch the pos lead and then grab the bases together with pliers to prevent it from spinning and finish tightening your pos screw

Do you people have the two-piece adjustable 510 pin that Kebo/Russians come with or is it the one piece 510, air-flow, adjustment pin? I know fatdaddyvapes sells the two piece 510 for cheap. The air-flow pin tightens to hold the positive block to the deck and the separate 510 pin adjusts to the mods required depth for positive contact

My russian was the newer one that originally shipped to vendors with the fail floating pin but was switched to the v1 2 pce screw system I think your talking about. It came with a pretty loose fitting flathead screw with a black O-ring on it. Flimsy but works absolutely fine so who am I to complain. I heard and read the floating pin caused major PITA issues but the b+m I bought mine from had already recieved the v1 screws from kebo and swapped them out.
