]Hi,

Just got into rba's and have a few things on the way from FT, but....I am confused at some of the descriptions of products I see on the web.
I do not want to order the wrong thing....

what do the following mean?

NR-R-NR? This means non resistance wire-resistance wire-non resistance wire. An example would be using ni200 (non res) for a lead then kanthal (res) for the coil then ni200 (non res) for the other lead. They are tack welded together, though there are places you can buy ready made strands. Some attys require this (I think the Sophia by Leo does).

Welded wire? If you want to use the flat ribbon wire, you can't usually put it through post holes or under post screws so you weld round kanthal to the ends for the leads like the nr-r-nr wire.

Micro-Macro? Micro coils have a small inside diameter, and macro coils have a larger inside diameter.

Flat ribbon wire? A type of wire that resembles a flat ribbon.

thanks in advance!!
