Help Clapton Build!

I have 24g and 28g kanthal wires and I'm looking to build dual Clapton 0.5ohm. Any tips or suggestions? I know how to make them I just don't know how many wraps to make and if I should do a macro or micro diameter wraps.

There's gonna be some ramp up, but try 5 wraps and put it on an ohm meter before you fire it. 26 core with 28 wrap would be better.

measure the ohms per centimetre of the Clapton wire

then you can use steam engine
http://www.steam-engine.org/coil.asp?a=true

use Material and Profile - Custome resistivity
and for wire resistance, put in the ohms per millimetre.

I'd say 26/30 or 26/32g. 24g has a lower ohm per foot to start off with so I'd suggest making your coil on a larger bit, and 28g is going to give your coil some serious mass over the 24g, it's going to have a pretty long ramp time if you're shooting for .5 duals. What kind of mod are you using?

28g for the outer wire will take a while to heat up. I'd suggest something like 32, or 36g nichome80 for the outter wire. I use 36g nichrome 80 from Temco it was like $11 for 250ft, and works well for all the claptons / fused claptons I've tried.
