if she smokes 2 packs a day, how could 36mg be too much? unless shes smoking ultra-lights....

plus you dont need to read up on mixing juice, you just take the juice you have, add glycerin, and shake/stir. done.

lot of reasons ......vaping more often, throat irritation, head rush and many more

and you let me know how that glycerine works out for ya.....I think vegetable glycerine would be better. Also she may not want to deal with syringes, bottles mixing, storing running to the pharmacy, running to the health store, percentages(which is why I said read about mixing, so I didn't have to write all this and overwhelm someone

From one noob to another, my advice is to be patient and don't give up!

Hubby and I just started vapin' last week. We both bought the same unit. He loves it, I couldn't use it at all. So I bought my 2nd unit and I LOVE it. I was prepared to buy 3 or 4 more units until I found one that worked for me.

That's all I got. Most everything else is subjective from person to person. Good luck!

good point Happily. i do use vegetable glycerin by the way. not sure why someone would use Animal glycerin, or what benefits that may offer.

I get mine from Whole Foods, A local health food store, a 4 oz bottle costs less than$5.

no need for syringes. i just uncap my smoke juice bottle, and add desired amount of VG. I have 18mg juice, and cut about 25%, no need to be exact, as i dont mind vaping, and could spend hours doing so, if only my batt's would last!!! (USB passthough is next, but bills are first, though i may just wire one of my own, all i need is a dead Batt, USB Cord, and switch)

You may want to learn a little more yourself, before giving such casual advice on the formum.

It is not "Animal Glycerin" it is Propylene Glycol (PG). Many people prefer PG for several reasons.
1. Less expensive
2. It adds almost no taste to the mix versus VG which has a sweeter flavor which many folks do not like
3. PG it thinner than VG and less likely to gum up an atomizer.

It is also wise to be a bit more precise when cutting your liquid. Many people are striving to get the nic mixture as low as possible for a couple of reasons.

1. While nicotine may not cause cancer, it does present some health risks (I'm not going to outline them all here, and I'm not a doctor anyway) If you can cut your intake to just what you need to satisfy your addiction, that is always preferable and can avoid unpleasant side effects like tightness in the chest and headaches.
2. If you cut more exactly you can be more efficient with your supplies, thus saving money.
3. By being more precise, your are also being safer, which is alway wise when dealing with any substance that has a poison as an ingredient.

I am not trying to slam you, but many people here are new, and while you are entitled to take what ever risks you want for your health and safety other folks may be more comfortable with more knowledge.

sure... good point.

i wasnt refering to PG, only elaborating that there is more than 1 source for glycerin.

and limiting your nicotine intake is important, but i feel perfectly comfortable in doing so by limiting my inhalation. ex: higher nicotine content = less inhalations. as i don't mind inhaling more, i am comfortable cutting my juice without scientific precision ( a little less nicotine isn't gonna hurt, if i cut it too much, i just puff a little more )

as far as casual advice, isn't that the point of the forum?

i do appreciate everyone here, and would hate to come off sounding arrogant or snide.

About the nicotine strength in liquid.

I would advise buying various strengths to see what's right for you.

I was a 2-3 ppd smoker and tried the 36 mg - it made me sick and gave me headaches. So I don't think just because you smoked a lot means you need the higher nic strength.

I vaped 18 mg these last 2 months and am now on 12 mg and am doing ok with it.

I started with the smoking everyone kit and really didn't like it. Found this forum and bought the dse 901 and love it. I spent 10 days using both the e-cig and analogs and on may 10th went solely with my 901 (yes, I use up batteries like mad) I have 6 of them. But my days are long, I am usually up from between 17-19 hours a day for my 4 day work week.

I spent the first couple of days when there were times I would have liked to light up an analog, but it wasn't all consuming and I avoided doing so.

I started out using the cartridges that came with the cig and had purchased more, then went with bottles of juice, it's cheaper (it comes in such lovely flavors) and if I want to I can load my extra cartridges in the morning and just switch out during the day. But what works best for me is to carry a little bottle and just top it off.

Thank you WV2Win...I clicked on your link to TrueVapor website. They sell the Vapor Mini DSE901....I saw the same product number on a website selling the Prodigy- can they have the same product number and be from 2 different manufacturers?

The Vapor Mini DSE901 has a much better price, and the refillable cartridges seem to be a much better value than pre-filled. Plus, their 901 looked more like an analog....would that mean bad battery life?

What you saw on the puresmoker web site was the Prodigy that uses a 901 atomizer. TrueVapor sells the DSE901, which is an auto switch VP whereas the Prodigy is a manual switch PV that uses a 901 atomizer. Two totally different devices. The auto switch DSE901 gets 2-3 hours of battery life where as the Prodigy should get anywhere from 6-8 hours of battery life. If the Prodigy is like the Screwdriver in performance (which it should be), then unlike the DSE901 auto switch device, you will get consistent throat hit and performance time after time for 6-8 hours. With the Prodigy you do not have to worry about getting liquid in the battery compartment and killing your batteries. The auto switch DSE901 batteries cost $15 to replace whereas the Prodigy batteries cost $2 to replace. If you want virtually hassle free vaping with lower LONG TERM cost, then I would suggest getting the Prodigy or Screwdriver.

Here is the nitty gritty....

I smoke 1 1/2 to 2 packs "light 100" analogs a day ( maybe someone can give me a hint as to what strength carts to try?)

What I want:

affordability
dependability
easy to use
good vapor ( don't need a fogger though)
good throat hit
good lung hit ( if possible)
easy to drip or refill without having to do microsurgery
nic satisfaction

My budget will not allow me to buy thousands of dollars of "attempts and tries". My budget will not allow me to buy 6 or 7 different models.
I would like to try the various flavors of juice, as I get accustomed to vaping.

If the Prodigy or Screwdriver will meet my above needs, then I will order as soon as I can. I am hoping I can receive it before the weekend.... I am anxious to get started.

ROFL!! We all want that!! Too funny!!

If you want it by this week-end, I would suggest you hop over to Phil at e-smokeytreats.com and buy the 510 starter kit, a 510 passthrough, and different strengths of his e-liquid in a flavor or flavors that you think you would like.

e-Smokey Treats - Electronic Cigarette's, The healthy alternative to traditional tobacco cigarette's

I ordered my first e-cig from Phil and I got it in 3 days. He'll treat you right for sure.

Good luck!!

P.S. If you think you might not like the rounded mouthpiece that the 510 carts have, buy a box of 901 carts too. The 901 carts have a tapered mouthpiece so you don't have to pucker your lips around it like the rounded mouthpiece. At my age, I don't need to create any more wrinkles than I already have hahaha!

The 901 carts are a tight fit, but I just wiggle and squiggle and push til it's fully on. After that first time, the cart will pop on and off more easily when you need to top off.

One cart should last you 2 or 3 days if you keep re-filling the cart with liquid. Topping off is simply dripping a few drops on top of the cart's filler as it dries out from use.

P.S.S. I think I'll start a poll on how many of us are using the 901 carts on our 510s. Might be surprised at the results huh?
