Hola everybody, Wyatt Derp here needing some info and comparison help. I thought this day would never come but alas it is here. I'm ready to get a mod and I'm needing some help to compare from other's past experience. I'm stuck between a variety of them, different vendors and such but I have a good idea of the top 5 I'm interested in and want to get some feedback from both longtime users of these products or people that have owned more than one on my list. WARNING: I'm trying to keep the mod under $100 or so since it will probably be my only Christmas present this year so I don't want to see someone chiming in "A Reo is all you will ever need" or "Provari made me never look back". Nothing wrong with those two, just not interested in spending that much money on one. Thanks in advance.

1. MadVapes Maxi Roughstack V2

2. MadVapes 3xAA 5 Volt Boxmod with changing LED

3. KVS Big KaZoo

4. Altsmoke Silver Bullet

5. Vapor Alley Original Copper

Feedback on these is appreciated and also ideas for other mods along these lines are welcome. Thanks all, Derp loves you.

Well, I've got a couple of the mods on your list so I'll give my impressions on those.

1. Maxi RS is a low priced 18650 mod. I had quite a few problems with the switch on mine and relegated it to backup duty once I got my Silver Bullet. The RS hasn't seen the light of day since. As the name suggests, it's a bit rough.

2. The SB is a well built mod with about the nicest, smoothest switch you can get. The build quality is much better than the RS. I've been using mine since March and haven't had a lick of trouble with it. For an under $100 mod this is one of the best around.

3. Boxmods in general are inexpensive starter mods. Although I haven't had a 5v box, I do have a VV version. If you decide to go with a HV boxmod consider the VV box, it's only $2 more and it'll give you lots more options. Personally I think boxmods in general are a great way to see if you want a mod in the first place since they're cheap and you can use the batteries and charger in another mod if you upgrade. Then you'll have a backup that takes the same batt's as your primary rig.

1. MadVapes Maxi Roughstack V2 - I own 3 of them running different setups with different juices. Very durable and can be vaped at a variety of voltages depending on what batteries you use. I think you drive over one of these and nothing would happen to it (please don't try in the event I'm wrong). Hubby uses one and it's been through hell but still hits like it was brand new. Highly recommend one.

2. MadVapes 3xAA 5 Volt Boxmod with changing LED - nice box mod but I can get it extremely hot. Sold it.

3. KVS Big KaZoo - never owned

4. Altsmoke Silver Bullet - I own 3. Nice heavy well constructed mod. Like the MRV2, it can accept a variety of batteries and can probably get squashed and still fire. For the money, it's worth it...nuf said.

5. Vapor Alley Original Copper - never owned

Thanks for all the information. I really appreciate.

@Hairball, I might go with that vv box but the tube is looking awesome. If you could only get one, the Silver bullet or Maxi Roughstack? I think I know the answer.

I chainvape and for a good VV box mod that uses it's battery to their fullest potential is one that the evercool system is installed. JamesW here on the forums (Krimson Kustoms) builds some excellent VV box mods. He stands behind his work and will answer any question that you might have. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...oltage-evercool-quality-look-great-price.html

It's right at the high end of your $ range, at $99, but you might consider the Infinity Pro.

A very nice looking tube mod with all the VV features.

IPro

Without VV, you skip a lot of range. I saw a poll where people who were using VV mods voted on their "sweet spot", and the majority of the answers clustered in the 4.25v to 5.0v range. That vast majority of mods won't put out voltage anywhere in that range - unless they do VV. And any real VV mod will give you all of that range and more.

For less money, as someone else mentioned, madvapes has a VV box mod (both as a kit, or all put together).

You can also check out the Splash VV mod.
Variable Voltage

And I believe someone linked to the Evercool VV.
