need info on mech mod battery charging

i read around here that a 100% charged battery is at 4.2 volts. i dont have a multi meter and i want to know what percentage is 3.2 volts which is what they recommend to charge that battery at when using mechs. i only have an evic that tells me what percentage battery i got left. so if i need to recharge at 3.2 volts what percentage is that?

I don't have a clue. Your Evic doesn't have a volt meter that reads out the volts? I think you need to invest in a portable voltmeter.

That would be about 75% approximately basing on a full 4.2 volt charge. Best is to get a multimeter

All batteries discharge different depending on length of draw and ohms of atty.

I'm fairly sure 3.2v would be much closer to 0% than 75% considering 3.0v and under usually ends up in the death of the cell?

If argus is basing this 75% off of 4.2v down to 0.0 (which is 76.19%) thats not how these cells work. i would not discharge a cell past storage charge (nominal voltage) of 3.7. the max i would go is 3.5v and that can even be damaging to the life of the cell.

I believe the percentages are based on the usable capacity with 100% being fully charged and 0% meaning it is time to recharge.

My mods stop working at 3.4 - 3.5 volts due to the voltage being to low to fire the atty. I could never get a battery to 3.2 volts.

Dunno. I have two of them and in the <5 ohm range they are both off by over 60% high. Your 1.5 ohm coil will read over 2.3 ohms. Completely unusable for measuring LR devices.

alright heres an update. went to the neighbors house and used his multimeter. took out the battery on the mod and popped it in the evic, it read 48%, popped that in the multimeter and it read 3.7 volts. took another battery and evic said 85% in the multi meter is read 3.9 volts. so based on this im guessing 3.2 volts is close to 0 to 20 percent.

Sounds correct to me. I use a lot of lipo cells for my rc hobbies. 3.6v is 0% on those. IMR is a different lithium chemistry and the voltage can go lower on them. with the mechs I try and stick to that habit of stopping usage at 3.6. That's just me and my habits.

My provari's both die at 3.4-3.1 depending on what voltage im vaping at.
