Hello all at ECF how are yall doing today. Well I have a question. Ive been using my eGo since Christmas an love an now I'm ready for something different. I'm looking for a good 5v mod. Ive been REALLY thinking about KVS Triple V. I like the way it looks an the big juice well. I like the tube mods a lot. The only bad thing tho is the Triple V is out of stock. I emailed James at KVS a weak ago an he said he should have more made on the 20th witch was this past Friday. I'm just excited cause I want to buy my first mod an I heard that a 5v has a very good sweet spot. So are there any other 5v mods that are just as good as the Triple V for the money or should I just wait til there back in stock? Thanks. :)

This thread is mostly for making mods but there should be enough vets in here to give you some input.
The Ego is only 3.4V generally, have you tried 5V before. I went from an Ego to a true 3.7V mod and IMO
that was a good step up, especially if you are using cartos. I have tried 5V and IMO it was too hot for cartos,
at least for all day vaping.

I am not familiar with KVS or the triple V. Is it expensive? You might wanna try a cheap 5V box mod
from Madvapes first. I am by no means familiar with all the mods out there, but most of the tube mods
I have seen are 3.7V / 6V / 7.4V or adjustable ( VV ).

I know GLV has a 5V mod, it uses a resistor instead of a regulator, but I don't know what their lead
time is right now.

i agree with VpnDrgn going to a true 3.7v might be all you need. i started with joye 510s then went to a 3.7 box my 3rd day vaping (2-10-11) and have since went to a VV i made myself. i prefer between 4.2v and 4.6v depending on the juice and and 5v+ everything tastes bad to me. hope this helps

Did I post is in the wrong part of the forums or something? Sorry if I did.

Post a link or specs or features of the mod, we can help discuss it vs the DIY stuff we make. This sub-forum is for those that wish to make their own mods... "modders" = "mod makers", not "modders" = "mod purchasers" (although that happens too). lol.

You may wish to try the general section; you'll probably get 100 responses, all mutually exclusive. It's a subjective thing. lol. Someone has probably used that specific mod before. Since I make my 5 volt mods, IDK what to tell you about the others since I haven't used them. If you post a link about the "KVS triple V" or whatever list of mods you are looking at, we can tell you a lot about the electronics in it, even if we haven't used it (assuming we can get specs).

5V is a sweet spot, vv is all the rage, and if you haven't tried any of them before, you may wish to try a 5v PT+AC-USB adapter and standard atty 1st to see if you like it. If the box you are looking at is vv, it's adjustable to a range, so you may not have to try others out 1st.

And if you like to solder, this is really the best place to be! Making a 3.7 mod is fun, 5v PT is easy, a 5v box is only a little more complex, and vv is a bit more complex than 5v.

EDIT: Can be ordered in 3.7 or 5 V versions. IDK what electronics are inside. Looks solid.
