If this is posted elsewhere, I couldn't find it and apologize.

Can the 5v 510 box mod kit from madvapes be converted to VV? If so, which resistor should be swapped to a potentiometer? Have the kit en route, but the wife lost her eGo Twist and stole my MVP so I was hoping to convert the 5v box to VV.

Thanks for the help in advance.

I'm sorry I can't give you specifics on the circuit itself (still learning), but I do know enough to say that it can be easily made VV.

One of the resistors in the kit is for the LED, so I'd imagine the one that is meant to bridge pins 3 & 4 would be the one to swap out.

Edit:
Found this in my folder of all things ecig...sorry to the creator whom I don't know, so I can't give props.

This diagram could be used easily enough for the parts you're getting, just add the pot and cap. If I remember correctly that switch is rated for 3a, so the capacitor could be omitted. You may want to double check that though. As for the LED, it's location wouldn't change, and the negative battery in the above schematic would be the same as the negative from the main switch in the Madvapes tutorial.

Ok, built the 3.7 box mod. Wired it correctly, I think. Put a atomizer on and LED lights up, but the atomizer doesn't get hot. No vape. Tried a caromizer, light comes on no vape. Tried several different tank/atomizers I have. All work on the MVP, none work on the 3.7 mod I built.

Any ideas why it won't produce vapor? I checked the connector to make sure it's getting voltage and it is. Can't figure out why it won't produce vapor.

Battery + goes to switch then 470 ohm resistor then LED then 510 connector center. Outer of 510 goes straight to battery. My 2AA box doesn't have a main power switch.

There was a time when I wasn't sure I was going to have internet access all the time so I got in the habit of saving pages instead of just bookmarking them. Here's the page from the old Madvapes site in PDF on Google Docs if you want to retrace your steps with the guide.

Most of the time in my experience though, that particular symptom is caused by the contact of either the cart or the connector on the mod being recessed too much. I use a small flat head screwdriver and gently pry up one side then the other. Not too much mind you, just .5-1mm or so.
