The published mah rating is measured for the entire useful voltage range of the battery. starting at 4.2 and dropping all the way down 2.5v. So in a low voltage application like a flashlite, the mah ratting is more accurate and does matter since you can use the battery all way down to it's min allowed voltage of 2.5v.

However for mechanical vapping we really start to notice a drop off after 3.7 volts so our minimum voltage is really 3.7. When you look at those charts you'll see that for amps loads above 2amps the 1600 can hold 3.7 volts longer than the other batteries. If you re-calculated mah for a minimum for 3.7volts the 1600 would actually have a higher mah than the others.

Also for regulated devices remember they cut out at about 3.1 or 3.2 volts. so any life left in a battery for voltages less than 3.1 is useless on those devices.
Awesome FB,
Thank you !
I have 5 2000mah AWs running across 3 Reos.
But when I need some more (Can't really have to many,) I'll get the 1600's.

I notice in all of these tests even though it's rated mah is lower the AW IMR 1600 holds a higher voltage, longer, in the usable range for mechanicals 3.7 to 4.2 volts for amp loads above 2.5 ish

I'd like to see a comparison test with a 3.5 to 4 amp load putting the 1600 against the newer batteries like the Sony.

Excellent, concise explanation!

Flat tops aren't an issue on my Reo... are they supposed to be?

Flat tops are fine...my Sony's will spark if I don't keep up with the Noalox though.

I'll put some on my firing pin, put a battery in and it'll have a drop on top. I'll then take another battery and put the 2 positive ends together and spread the noalox around on each one.

Sparking stops right away and not a single issue.
