Thanks everybody I'm new to the forum and this thread was a lot of help...I think I'm going to go with the 510 I saw it on Nhaler.com I just want to know if I'm just getting started should i go with the 24mg or 12mg, sorry for sounding like such an amatuer lol!
You can start your own thread if you wanted lol but if you an option Id say get both - you will find working out 'your' level of nic is a bit of journey; everyone is different even if they smoked the same brands. The more flavors and nic strengths you try the easier it will be to work out what suits YOU best. :)

Well price isn't the main problem with me, because I have about a hundred or more to throw out for my first one. If talking about what I'm looking for most in an ecig, it has to be flavor, ease of use, and ease of refilling. I am lazy and don't want to spend hours everyday refilling or even just so I can switch around. Also, since taste is a major for me, I was told that some gives a burnt flavor that ruins taste. So yea those are factors to consider and will be hard since I don't get to try them first hand.
Taste > How easy it is to use > How easy is it to refill/switch around

You basically just described a kr8. It has really good taste, easy to refill, and the batteries last longer than a standard 510 battery. Im a lazy person and hate spending time tinkering/refilling etc so kr8 has been perfect for me. I would recommend to get some good juice with a little vg in it and you will get plenty of vapor. Good luck and no matter which model you choose, you will be happy im sure.

Since you are going to be vaping zero nic, it really comes down to what kind of performance you are expecting. The KR8 will give better battery life and simplicity, but performance does not match the 510. The 510 gives a real smoke-like vapor, and directly replicates that "feeling" of smoking, and vapor amounts are huge. For this reason, I recommend the 510, there's a reason it's the most popular model on this forum  Since you don't require a nic fix and want to vape purely for pleasure, I figure a few extra minutes of tinkering here and there to get a quality vaping experience would be acceptable for you, go 510. It's also less expensive, so you'll have more cash for different liquids.

You want to be a able to change up flavors, which makes cartos a nice convenience. You can drip with the 510 and use carts, so it's a bit of a moot point. Obviously, cartos would be more convenient here.

Good luck with whatever you decide :) I can definately vouch for the Cignot $35 no-box kit, it's hard to beat that. I say get one of those to start and some different flavors to drip with and play with, then once you figure out what you like you can fill carts and swap 'em around.

I disagree. I get excellent performance from both my 510 and my Kr8. I love both units for different reasons. Someone in this thread recommend that the OP should get BOTH the 510 and the Kr8. I agree with this recommendation. He can then try both units for himself. He can keep them both or sell/trade the one he doesn't want to keep in the Classified section of the forums.

I can tell you that the battery life on standard 510 batteries is short. I started with a standard 510 and was constantly charging and changing batteries.

I tried 2 other models last yr when I was just a beginner. The 401 & 801.

Neither of these models kept my mom & me from analogues. The 501 was sort of new at the time & I was hesitant on getting it. Now the 501 is a lot of peoples choice. So, last week I got the 501 manual kit with the MEGA BATTS for $2.00 more from Happy Vapor. Jack modified the kit for us. They last a longer. We are on the list for the eGO which has a lot more batt life. The manual is the key in all models.

The 510 is a keeper for us. It really is. We have no interest in analogues now. Filling the carts is so, so, so easy and quick.

If you are looking to save monies while testing out models, then I suggest just buying the passthrough models only. Of course you will have to order just one atty & cart with them as they do not come with the passthrough.

I agree with all the other vapers that have been kind enough to give you advise.....take the plunge. That is the only way you will know what model satisfies your needs, wants and desires. No one can make that final decision for you. At least you have picked 2 models that everyone likes. :)
It's a fun learning curve.

Buy two no box kits from cignot spend the rest of your budget on liquids and a PT. That way you have two chargers and four batteries and atty's. You can keep a seperate atty for different flavors. Plus, if anything breaks down you have spares.

I know a lot of people say take your time and make sure you get what you like. But I'm not sure anyone really knows what it is they like until they try it. That really is really true about liquids, I don't think anyone really knows what they are going to like until they are at it a while. Plus every day you wait is one more day paying for cigs and sucking down more chemicals.

I have tried the 510 and the 808 I prefer the 510 but it's clear not everyone does.

Good Luck.

I bought a 510 from cignot and it was ok except I didn't care for filling the cartridge all the time so I got an adapter and put cartos on it but I use a 510 5 volt passthrough. I'm not sure the 510 battery will be up to it. So if I were to do it again I would get a kr808d-1. Plus they have more power delivered to the cartos. JMO

I like the 808 from V4L.Thats where I ended up after getting sick of constant dripping and leaking.I started with an 801,switched to 901 and was about to give up when someone pointed me to V4L.They have XL batts that last a very long time, and they have samplers for cartos.I love that I can try 5 different flavors for the price of one box.I dont know of anyone else that does that. Its pretty cool.

I have a KR808D-1 just to try it, don't have a 510 yet. But I have read alot about 510 and I vape a different 3-piece model.

A 510 can be configured as either a 3-piece (normal way it is sold) or as a 2-piece by using Boge or other cartomizers for 510
KR8 is just a 2-piece unless you use another brand's atty and carts on it - I think DSE901 atty can be used on KR8, or 510 atty w/ an adapter.

Standard and xl KR8 batteries last longer than 510 battery, But 510 also has a mega-battery that last longer

All flavors in the world are available to both if you fill your own carts or cartos. Flavors should not be a deciding point unless you plan to buy juice-filled KR8 cartos from V4L and elsewhere and just throw them away when empty. If you want to spend a lot of money for convenience you could do that, but it's the most expensive way to vape

Everyone has their own opinion but so far I prefer the way carts drag to the loose drag of KR8 cartos. I prefer the temp of a cart to the too-hot temp of a carto on my lips. But I have not yet tried Boge (aka Coolcarts at V4L) cartos yet - they should not get so hot on the lips and might have more resistance in their drag.

You could go with either, but I recommend you eventually try both carts and cartos and decide what you like.

I am lazy and don't want to spend hours everyday refilling or even just so I can switch around.

Remember that fiddling with batteries is a consideration also. Have you looked at any of the mods. I've been eyeballing this one from madvapes. RoughStack Kit. They also have a box mod for around $20.00 I think. Something like that can get you ahead in the money game pretty quick, as the batts last a long time and are a lot less expensive to replace. Another consideration is the Ego kits. Paired with the mega attys they can keep you vaping for extended periods. Just my $.02. :>) Later, JD

I've got a 510 with a collection of batteries and an eGo. I went with the 510 because it seemed to be the most "universal", and there were lots of parts and accessories available for it.

I've also got V4L KR808 cartos that I can use with $.99 thread adapters to screw them on to my 510/eGo batteries.

Don't know much about the KR808 batteries since I don't have any.
