After making myself dizzy reading and following links, I need some advice from the more experienced here. What do you think of this kit? As far as what comes in it, what else would I need to buy for it and pricing:

VZ 510 Mega 280/180 Battery Cartomizer Kit - Black - E Cig : Best Ejuice | Joye eGo & eGo-T | Boge Leo | Cartomizers | E-Liquid | Electronic Cigarettes

Also what is the difference in the e-liquids such as this one:

VZ USA Desert Ship Menthol E-Liquid | E Juice - E Cig : Best Ejuice | Joye eGo & eGo-T | Boge Leo | Cartomizers | E-Liquid | Electronic Cigarettes

and this one:

VZ USA Menthol Ice E-Liquid | E Juice - E Cig : Best Ejuice | Joye eGo & eGo-T | Boge Leo | Cartomizers | E-Liquid | Electronic Cigarettes

thank you so much for any help and advice,

betty

Just my opinion... I wish I had "started" vaping this way. I would buy these items...

Battery

Big Tank or Small Tank

Charger

Try different Juice vendors... as many as you can afford. Buy the above items, you will be pleased and can adjust when you feel you are ready and change to different tanks/coils. You can't go wrong with the above linked items and I am sure the majority would agree.

Hi - The "Desert Ship" is a menthol tobacco flavor, whereas the "Menthol Ice" is straight menthol, no tobacco.

There's nothing wrong with the kit you posted. the cartomizer system is still widely used, although many people on here place them inside a larger tank. Just be aware of the limitations involved. The general rule of thumb around here is that every 100 mAh equals to about an hour of dedicated usage time. So that 180 mAh battery will last about 2 hours and the 280 mAh battery maybe 3. Of course, this is dependent on how often you decide to vape. Also, they are likely unregulated batteries. This means the charge will start off at 4.2 volts and then slowly work it's way down to about 3.3 or so before the battery dies. The first few minutes of usage will be extremely warm, the majority of the time the temperature of the vape will remain somewhat steady and then it will slowly become less satisfying until you change out batteries.

Though I've heard great things about the eRoll, I've decided to never try it myself. It is a regulated battery, I believe. This means that though the top off charge will still be around 4.2 volts, it will quickly lower to 3.7 and stay there until just before it dies. It is a 3-piece system however, with a separate atomizer and a tank. The tanks only hold about 0.5 ml of liquid; the cartomizers for the 510 kit will hold about 1.0 ml. It is also only a 90 mAh battery, so about half the usage time of the automatic 510. The PCC is meant to offset this; the revolutionary thing about the eRoll is that you don't need to disassemble it to charge it in the PCC. However, the PCC will not hold a spare battery or anything other than the charging unit. This means you need to either carry a bottle of liquid or some pre-filled tanks separately in order to continue using it throughout the day. The biggest drawback for myself is the fact that the eRoll is a proprietary system, so until Joye comes out with something other than the atomizer and tank system you are locked in to only using that. No clearos or cartos or any other choices. You could probably drip with it, but that's about it.

Also keep in mind that all Li-Ion batteries have a more or less set usage life, generally rated about 300 charge cycles. This means the more often you need to re-charge a battery then the faster it will simply stop taking a charge. The smaller the battery, the faster it will stop working.

I'm not knocking either system. I've heard great things about the eRoll, but having used atomizer+tank systems in the past it's just not for me. I primarily use minis; I just want to make sure you're aware of the limitations of either system or any other you may look in to.

Good luck!

Ok so chances are if I am used to menthol regular cigarettes the Desert Ship would more simulate the flavor I am used to, although not an exact duplication?

thank you,

Hi Betty, The kit looks OK. It would be suitable if you want something that approximates the size a feel of a cigarette. It might be lacking if you are a heavy vaper because you will be frequently recharging the batteries. The nice thing is that you will have e-liquid, cartos, and a charger that you can use if you upgrade later. I still use a couple 510 batteries at work because they are smaller and less conspicuous.

That's hard to predict. I was a menthol smoker and I don't like any tobacco flavors. I prefer straight mints and menthols.

Welcome Betty....you'll get great advice here.

Thank you! I think at this point I'm more confused than ever, partially due to all the terms I'm running into plus confusion as to which kit would be best for me.

In regular cigarettes I smoke "menthol 100's" so I would preferable like the e-cig to also have some length to it to duplicate the "hold feel" in order to satisfy some of my emotional addition. I am a 2-3 pack a day smoker and in cigarettes prefer Menthol Light 100's, so what would be the best nicotine strength for me?

What is the term for the cigarette part of it, and the filter of the e-cigarette?

While I can appreciate the links to the various parts I think starting out I can better afford a kit and the liquid.

sorry for all the questions but as I said the more I read the more consed I am getting as to what I should buy.

thank you again for all the help so far,

betty

Hi

In the kits you're looking at, the "cigarette" part is the battery, and the "filter" part is the cartomizer. The cartomizer has filler in it that holds the e-liquid and there is a coil inside that heats the liquid and turns it into vapor.

At 2-3 packs per day, you should start with 24mg nicotine, or 36mg if you still have strong cravings. You might get some of each, so you could vape the higher amount at times you need it (like first thing in the morning, or whenever your main trigger times are).

Hi Betty, yes the amount of information can be overwhelming. The e-cig experience can be broken down into three basic parts. 1) the power source 2) the delivery device 3) the e-liquid. The "power source" in your case is the Battery. The "delivery device" is the cartomizer (the cigarette .... looking thing). The e-liquid is just that... the liquid you drip into the delivery device. The kit you are eyeing has you covered so do not sweat it. Over time, if you choose, you can upgrade each element and improve the vaping experience. For now. it is perfectly fine to take small steps. The nice people in this forum will support you with ideas and information whenever you have a question. Most of the info is subjective and I am certainly not an expert but we will help as best as possible.

Keep in mind that for the most part, "light" cigarettes refers to the flavor, not the level of nicotine (or any of the other bad ingredients). That's in the fine print tobacco companies hope people won't read.

If you are a 2-3 PAD smoker, I would start with an eGo-C battery with clearomizer kit. I only recommend this because you smoke a lot and the small cig-looking ones will die and you will juggle batteries left and right. A full clearomizer tank at 24mg/ml nicotine in your juice will be roughly 1.5 packs of 100 length cigs. If you can do a YouTube search for "joyetech 510 vs ego". You should find some good information, and the visual will help you. If you have a local vape shop go see if you can sample some stuff

Do you know which site would be the cheapest on this kit? If no one prefers to answer the specific question, does anyone have a link to the kit so I can see what is in it?

sorry to be pain,

Hi bettysue. In regards to batteries realize 100 mah= 1 hour of normal vaping before needing recharge. The Kit you originally chose has a 180 mah batt and a 280 mah batt so you'd have about 3 1/2 hours of vaping before needing to recharge them. Much better if you think about buying an eGo style/ class PV....prolly a 1000 mah battery kit.
Realize eGo is a style of battery:
JoyTech eGo fires @ 3.3 volts
Kgo fires @ 3.7 volts
Both are manufactured by large and reputable companies.
Here's review on the Kgo- gives you an idea of the size

$43.00 for a complete starter kit with 2 batteries, etc
KGO kit1100mAh by SLB
Most new vapers begin @ 18 or 24 mg nicotine. 2-3 PAD and I would also suggest 24 mg.
